Hydrogen‐Producing Catalysts Based on Ferredoxin Scaffolds

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Selected plant‐type ferredoxins that lack their natural [2Fe‐2S] clusters functionally bind a hydrogenase active site cofactor and act as hydrogenases themselves. In combination with photosystem I, the light‐dependent H₂ evolution almost matches the H₂ production rates of the natural system.

Histone Demethylase UTX Suppresses Tumor Cell Proliferation by Regulating Stress Granules

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
These findings indicate that cytoplasmic UTX forms puncta and co‐localizes in stress granules (SGs) upon various stresses. UTX TPR‐domain‐dependently and demethylase‐activity‐independently destabilize SGs by binding G3BP1, the SG hub protein, to disrupt SG network, thus affects tumorigenesis.

Critical Role of IL1R2‐ENO1 Interaction in Inhibiting Glycolysis‐Mediated Pyroptosis for Protection Against Lethal Sepsis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The authors have discovered that intracellular interleukin 1 receptor 2 (IL1R2) negatively regulates pyroptosis and inflammation by inhibiting glycolysis in sepsis. Soluble IL1R2 is released from macrophages undergoing pyroptosis. IL1R2 acts as a novel negative regulator of glycolysis by interacting with enolase 1 (ENO1), thereby inhibiting gasdermin D

Abnormal β‐Hydroxybutyrylation Modification of ARG1 Drives Reprogramming of Arginine Metabolism to Promote the Progression of Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Alterations in arginine metabolism and β‐hydroxybutyrylation (Kbhb) modifications play a critical role in tumor progression. This study reveals valuable insights into arginine metabolism reprogramming involving the ARG1‐Kbhb/P300/SLC3A2 signaling axis and uncovers an effective therapy combining BHB with ARG1 inhibitor through conventional enzymatic and

TRIM21‐Mediated K11‐Linked Ubiquitination of ID1 Suppresses Tumorigenesis and Promotes Cuproptosis in Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ID1 is regulated by E3 ligase TRIM21, which adds non‐degradative K11‐linked ubiquitin at Lys91, disrupting ID1‐TCF12 binding and freeing TCF12 to upregulate copper transporter SLC31A1. Enhanced SLC31A1 elevates intracellular copper, triggers cuproptosis, and inhibits ESCC growth.
