Pd−C-Induced Catalytic Transfer Hydrogenation with Triethylsilane

The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2007
In situ generation of molecular hydrogen by addition of triethylsilane to palladium-charcoal catalyst results in rapid and efficient reduction of multiple bonds, azides, imines, and nitro groups, as well as benzyl group and allyl group deprotection under mild, neutral conditions.

Intramolecular Catalytic Hydrogen Atom Transfer (CHAT)

The Journal of Physical Chemistry A
Intramolecular catalysis (IntraCat) is the acceleration of a process at one site of a molecule catalyzed by a functional group in the same molecule; an external agent such as a solvent typically facilitates it. Here, we report a general first-principles-based IntraCat mechanism, which strictly occurs within a single molecule with no coreagent being ...

Chinchona Alkaloid Derived Ligands in Catalytic Asymmetric Transfer Hydrogenation.

ChemInform, 2003
A collection of chiral quinuclidine ligands, derived from the Cinchona alkaloids quinine and quinidine, has been evaluated in the catalytic asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of aromatic ketones. It was fond that [IrCl(COD)]2 complexes of the diamines QCI-Amine and QCD-Amine gave the most active catalysts, capable of reducing a range of aromatic ketones

Kinetics of catalytic transfer hydrogenation of soybean oil

The Chemical Engineering Journal, 1993
The catalytic transfer hydrogenation of soybean oil was studied by using various concentrations of sodium formate solutions, an emulsifier and paladium on a carbon catalyst. Sodium formate concentration and addition of the emuldifier significantly affect the reaction rate because of their influence on the liquid/liquid interface.

Catalytic Hydrodeoxygenation and Transfer Hydrogenation of Renewable Lignin-Derived Phenolics

European Biomass Conference and Exhibition Proceedings, 2016
Bio-oil obtained from biomass pyrolysis needs to be upgraded prior to its use as fuel since it contains high content of oxygenated compounds. Catalytic hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) is considered as an efficient technique for upgrading of pyrolysis bio-oil. The objective of this work was to study the HDO of phenolic compounds derived from lignin fraction of

Catalytic transfer hydrogenation of aryl sulfo compounds

Journal of Sulfur Chemistry, 2012
A new method to reduce aryl sulfo compounds via transfer hydrogenation was investigated, using Pd/C as a catalyst, and 2-propanol or formic acid as hydrogen sources. This new process is simple and clean.

Catalytic transfer hydrogenation of benzaldehyde in a microwave oven

Organometallics, 1993
The catalytic transfer hydrogenation of benzaldehyde catalyzed by (carbonyl)chorohydridotris(triphenylphosphine)ruthenium(II) was carried out in a sealed Teflon vessel using a household microwave oven as the heat source. Carrying out the reaction in the microwave oven produced an improvement in the average catalytic turnover rate from 280 to 6700 ...
