In 1990 an estimated 37 million people were blind worldwide—40% of them because of cataract.1 Every year, an extra 1-2 million people go blind.

Sutural cataract is uncommon crystalline opacities that affect Y-sutures of the fetal lens nucleus, which is usually congenital and hereditary with X-linked transmission.
