Coding categorical data for simple correspondence analysis

open access: yes, 2003
Simple correspondence analysis is a very popular exploratory tool used to graphically identify the association between two categorical variables. It is generally performed by applying singular value decomposition on the standardised cell values of the ...

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

Robust categorical data analysis [PDF]

open access: yes
Many quantities of scientific, political, or public interest are measured through categorical variables. A categorical variable is characterized by only taking values in a known countable range.

From correspondence analysis to multiple and joint correspondence analysis [PDF]

open access: yes
The generalization of simple (two-variable) correspondence analysis to more than two categorical variables, commonly referred to as multiple correspondence analysis, is neither obvious nor well-defined.

カテゴリカル・データの非計量的主成分分析の応用

open access: yes, 1997
1997-12-26An extended method of nonmetric (nonlinear) principal components analysis (PCA) for (unordered) categorical data, which gives multiple quantifications to categories of an item maximizing the size of explained variances by the factor analytical ...

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Bayesian Clustering of Categorical Time Series Using Finite Mixtures of Markov Chain Models [PDF]

open access: yes
Two approaches for model-based clustering of categorical time series based on time- homogeneous first-order Markov chains are discussed. For Markov chain clustering the in- dividual transition probabilities are fixed to a group-specific transition matrix.

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.
