Temperature, Disinfectant Concentration and Bacterial Innate Properties Influence the Disinfection of Bacterial Pathogens Relevant to Catfish Aquaculture

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aquaculture systems suffer a wide range of losses, mostly due to bacterial disease outbreaks, and the use of disinfectants is a routine practice for controlling the spread of pathogenic organisms globally. A bristle‐nosed Jurassic ray‐finned fish (Actinopterygii) bears true dermal odontodes on its snout

Teeth show extreme diversity, including tooth‐like dermal odontodes or “skin teeth” in many extant fishes. We describe the anatomy of enlarged tubercles on the snout of Redfieldius, an extinct early Jurassic fish. We found that the tubercles in Redfieldius are dermal odontodes that evolved independently from those of living species. Abstract Comparison
