Functional differential equations of the cauchy-kowalevsky type

open access: yesAequationes Mathematicae, 1985
Hintergrund dieser Untersuchungen sind z.B. partielle Differentialgleichungssysteme \[ u_ t(t,z)=c(t,z,u(t-h_ 1,z)...)+\sum^{n}_{i=1}B_ i(t,z,u(t-h^ i_ 1,z\quad),...)u_{z_ i}(t-h'\!_ i,z) \] mit Verschiebungen in t. Anfangswerte werden daher nicht nur längs \(t=0\), \(z\in \Omega c{\mathbb{C}}^ n\), sondern in \(G_ 0:=[-r,0]\times \Omega\) (r\(\geq 0)\)

Non‐vanishing of Poincaré series on average

open access: yesMathematika, Volume 72, Issue 2, April 2026.
Abstract We study when Poincaré series for congruence subgroups do not vanish identically. We show that almost all Poincaré series with suitable parameters do not vanish when either the weight k$k$ or the index m$m$ varies in a dyadic interval. Crucially, analyzing the problem ‘on average’ over these weights or indices allows us to prove non‐vanishing ...

Duality for Evolutionary Equations With Applications to Null Controllability

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 49, Issue 5, Page 4144-4166, 30 March 2026.
ABSTRACT We study evolutionary equations in exponentially weighted L2$$ {\mathrm{L}}^2 $$‐spaces as introduced by Picard in 2009. First, for a given evolutionary equation, we explicitly describe the ν$$ \nu $$‐adjoint system, which turns out to describe a system backwards in time. We prove well‐posedness for the ν$$ \nu $$‐adjoint system. We then apply

Evaluation of the Haemodynamic Behaviour of Stenosed Aortic Heart Valves Using Fluid Structure Interaction Modelling [PDF]

open access: yesInternational journal for numerical methods in biomedical engineering
The haemodynamic environment of generic calcific and rheumatic aortic valves of various severities is analysed through the use of 3D FSI modelling techniques. For the same severity and similar flow rates, the rheumatic valves offer higher resistance to the flow of blood compared to the calcific valves.

On the Mean‐Field Limit of Consensus‐Based Methods

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 49, Issue 5, Page 4214-4240, 30 March 2026.
ABSTRACT Consensus‐based optimization (CBO) employs a swarm of particles evolving as a system of stochastic differential equations (SDEs). Recently, it has been adapted to yield a derivative free sampling method referred to as consensus‐based sampling (CBS). In this paper, we investigate the “mean‐field limit” of a class of consensus methods, including

Asymptotic Analysis of the Static Bidomain Model for Pulsed Field Cardiac Ablation

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 49, Issue 4, Page 2510-2531, 15 March 2026.
ABSTRACT Cardiac arrhythmias are caused by faulty electrical signals in the heart, which lead to chaotic wave propagation and impaired cardiac function. This work focuses on a non‐thermal ablation technique based on electroporation (EP), a promising method for treating arrhythmias, called pulsed field ablation (PFA).

Hyperstability of Cauchy and Jensen functional equations in 2-normed spaces

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications
In this article, with simple and short proofs without applying fixed point theorems, some hyperstability results corresponding to the functional equations of Cauchy and Jensen are presented in 2-normed spaces.

Tests of Exponential Stabilization Through Floquet Theory and Act‐And‐Wait Control

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 49, Issue 4, Page 3303-3316, 15 March 2026.
ABSTRACT In this paper, we propose tests of exponential stability based on a version of the Floquet theory for delay differential equations of the first order. Our approach allows researchers to preserve the order of equation and to use the classical methods of the Floquet theory for ordinary differential equations.

Compression‐Tension‐Asymmetry and Stiffness Nonlinearity of Collagen‐Matrigel Composite Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 15, Issue 9, 6 March 2026.
Self‐assembled collagen hydrogel matrices are widely used in tissue engineering applications. These matrices stiffen and contract laterally under tension due to fiber alignment and soften and collapse under compression due to fiber buckling. It is demonstrated that filler materials, such as Matrigel, linearize the mechanical behavior of collagen ...
