Downregulated CAV1 in HO is restored via apoptotic bodies from PMSCs, which reprogram bone remodeling by delivering CAV1 to target cells, highlighting the therapeutic role of EV subtypes in heterotopic ossification. Abstract Heterotopic ossification (HO) is a pathological process characterized by ectopic bone formation in non‐osseous tissues, with an ...

The cervical interbody cage needs to take both biomechanical and biological requirements into account. Here, a new‐style degradable, multicomponent, and bioinspired nacre‐like cervical interbody cage composite, which exhibits promising mechanical‐support‐related behavior and osteogenesis‐related potential, is designed and prepared.

Caudal anesthesia for anoplasty in a toddler with uncorrected tetralogy of Fallot: a case report
Background: Non-cardiac surgery is prevalent among individuals with a history of cyanotic congenital heart disease (CHD), including tetralogy of Fallot (ToF). Surgical and anesthetic procedures in such patients may lead to multiple complications.

ABSTRACT Background Deflectable delivery systems have been introduced to enhance coaxial alignment and procedural efficacy during left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO), yet randomized comparisons with conventional fixed‐curve systems are lacking. Aims The GUIDE‐LAAO trial evaluated whether the TruSteer deflectable delivery system is non‐inferior to ...

Zebrafish inversin mutants develop scoliosis in the absence of laterality defects
Abstract Background Human mutations in INVERSIN are associated with nephronophthisis, variable penetrance of situs inversus and congenital heart disease. Inversin has been shown to localize to cilia and many of the patient phenotypes are attributed to disrupted cilia function.

An algorithm for seizure detection in rodents
Abstract Objective Epilepsy animal research often relies on long‐term intracranial electroencephalographic (iEEG) recordings. Here, we describe an artificial neural network (ANN) algorithm for automatic detection of seizures. Methods The algorithm was trained on iEEG recordings of three mouse models of chronic epilepsy: (1) the pilocarpine model of ...

Absence seizures: Update on signaling mechanisms and networks
Abstract Absence seizures (AS) are a hallmark of genetic generalized epilepsies (GGE), characterized by brief episodes of impaired consciousness accompanied by electroencephalographic spike‐and‐wave discharges (SWDs). Traditionally attributed to cortico‐thalamo‐cortical (CTC) dysrhythmia, emerging evidence suggests a more intricate pathophysiological ...

Using the adjuvants during infusion of local anaestetics into caudal-epidural space in newborns
Markers of stress and central haemodynamics were investigated in 45 newborns. General anesthesia and caudal infusion of local anesthetics were combined in 15 newborns. Promedol and clonidine were added to local anesthetics in 15 newborns.
