Mulch effects of a seedless Leucaena Hawaiian hybrid on growth and productivity of okra (Abelmoschus esculentus [L.] Moench) in pots

open access: yesFrontiers in Sustainable Food Systems
Leucaena spp. (Leucaena) may be pruned and the biomass applied to the soil to improve soil quality in crop production. This pruned biomass may improve soil water retention and contribute plant nutrients as it decomposes.

Field trip guide to Oligocene Limestones and Caves in the Waitomo District [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The field guide runs from Hamilton to Waitomo to Te Anga and return in limestone-dominated country developed in transgressive sedimentary deposits of the Oligocene Te Kuiti Group – a world class example of a temperate shelf carbonate depositional system.

3D Anodic Alumina Nanoarchitectures: A Decade of Progress from Foundational Science to Functional Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ordered three‐dimensional anodic aluminum oxide (3D‐AAO) nanoarchitectures with longitudinal and transverse pores enable architecture‐driven metamaterials. The review maps fabrication advances, including hybrid pulse anodization, and shows how 3D‐AAO templates tailor properties across magnetism, energy, catalysis, and sensing.

Measuring Caribbean stress and resilient coping: Psychometric properties of the PSS-10 and BRCS in a multi-country study during the COVID-19 pandemic

open access: yesCambridge Prisms: Global Mental Health
Caribbean health research has overwhelmingly employed measures developed elsewhere and rarely includes evaluation of psychometric properties. Established measures are important for research and practice.

Synergistic Coupling of Host and Electrolyte Achieving 1270 Wh L−1 in Anode‐Free Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A synergistic combination of a highly reversible host and a commercially viable carbonate‐rich electrolyte enables simultaneous stabilization of both anode and cathode interfaces in anode‐free lithium metal batteries. This integrated strategy delivers exceptional reversibility and a record volumetric energy density of 1270 Wh L−1 (including package) in

A Quasi‐Solid Ionic Liquid‐Polymer Hybrid Electrolyte for Shuttle‐Free and Dendrite‐Free Aqueous Zinc─Bromine Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A quasi‐solid ionic liquid‐polymer hybrid electrolyte is proposed to achieve shuttle‐free and dendrite‐free aqueous Zn─Br batteries. Synergetic effects between Zn2+ selective conduction of polyanionic network and polybromide complexing additive suppress the shuttle effect and improve Zn reversibility.

Invertebrate Fauna of Devils Den, a Sandstone Cave in Northwestern Arkansas [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
The same invertebrate fauna of 17 species was found in Devils Den Cave, Washington County, Arkansas, in 1969 and 1979. The fauna consists of 1 trogloxene, 14 troglophiles, and 2 troglobites, a spider, Porrhomma cavernicolum, and a collembolan ...

Single‐Chromophore Homojunction Organic Solar Cells: A Path to Simplicity and Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This perspective discusses how the intrinsic optoelectronic properties of organic semiconductors, their molecular packing in the solid‐state, and internal energetic gradients within a device can enable free‐charge carrier generation in homojunction organic solar cells.
