Review of the Late Pleistocene Soricidae (Mammalia) fauna of the Vaskapu Cave (North Hungary)
The summary of the Late Pleistocene Soricidae remains of the North Hungarian Vaskapu Cave II and VII localities is given in the present paper. Five species (Sorex alpinus SHINZ, 1837, Sorex minutus LINNAEUS, 1766, Sorex araneus LINNAEUS 1758, Crocidura ...

The mid-latitude biodiversity ridge in terrestrial cave fauna
The world’s obligate cave-dwelling fauna holds considerable promise for biogeographic analysis because it represents a large number of independent evolutionary experiments in isolation in caves and adaptation to subterranean life. We focus on seven north

Flexible piezoresistive pressure sensors underpin wearable and soft electronics. This review links sensing physics, including contact resistance modulation, quantum tunneling and percolation, to unified materials/structure design. We highlight composite and graded architectures, interfacial/porous engineering, and microstructured 3D conductive networks

Subterranean fauna of twelve Istrian caves
The subterranean fauna of twelve Istrian caves, six in Slovenia and six in Croatia, is presented in this paper. Caves in the carbonate region of White Istria (Cicarija) host the richest troglobiotic fauna in comparison to caves in the carbonate littoral region of Red Istria and the intermediate fl ysh region of Grey Istria. Caves in the contact zone of

Our study demonstrates Brønsted base‐mediated proton transfer for HOAc dissociation regulation in weakly acidic electrolytes, where imidazole achieves optimal dynamic proton equilibrium‐simultaneously stabilizing Zn anodes and enabling efficient Mn2+/MnO2 conversion.

In the work reported herein, dipole‐engineered sulfonated carbon nanofibers enable conductive additives to actively regulate interphase formation in silicon anodes. Polar sulfonyl groups guide electrolyte decomposition to form a compact LiF‐rich interphase while promoting robust integration with silicon.

On the Mammal-fauna of the Caves of Creswell Crags [PDF]
T he exploration of the caves of Creswell Crags carried on by the Rev. J. M. Mello, F.G.S., in 1875, and brought before the Society in that and the following year, was finally concluded last summer; and the results have been handed over to me, by the Committee, for description—a task of no little difficulty, from ...

Toward Fast Proton Shuttling in Acidic Oxygen Evolution Reaction
This review establishes proton transfer dynamics as a descriptor governing acidic OER activity, moving beyond the kinetic constraints derived from the proton coupled electron transfer. We discuss how deprotonation governs classical mechanisms, including adsorbate evolution mechanism (AEM), lattice oxygen mechanism (LOM) and oxide path mechanism (OPM ...
