Effect of Dissolved Carbon Dioxide on Cavitation in a Circular Orifice

open access: yesFluids
In this work, we investigate the effect of dissolved gas concentration on cavitation inception and cavitation development in a transparent sharp-edged orifice, similar to that previously analyzed by Nurick in the context of liquid injectors.

Study of passive control study of the cavitation instability on a venturi profile [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
As a source of vibrations, noise, erosion and structure damages, cavitation is a major handicap for many industrial flows used in different domains from propeller or pump studies, to the analysis of hydrodynamic flows around a profile. This work presents

Recent observations on cavitation and cavitation noise [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
This paper is primarily concerned with the acoustics of traveling bubble cavitation around foils or headforms. We begin with observations of individual bubbles and the acoustic signals they emit, our purpose being to identify areas of research which ...

Thermodynamic Effect on Cavitation Performances and Cavitation Instabilities in an Inducer

open access: yesJournal of Fluids Engineering, 2007
Based on the length of the tip cavitation as an indication of cavitation, we focused on the effect of thermodynamics on cavitation performances and cavitation instabilities in an inducer. Comparison of the tip cavity length in liquid nitrogen (76K and 80K) as working fluid with that in cold water (296K) allowed us to estimate the strength of the ...

Cavitation erosion behaviour of MAB-CU4 alloy: influences of cavitation number, attack angle, time, and stand-off distance

open access: yesMaterials Research Express
The present study comprehensively examines the cavitation erosion behaviour of a manganese aluminium bronze alloy (MAB-CU4 alloy) as a function of several parameters (i.e., cavitation angle, cavitation number, time, and stand-off distance), particularly ...

Femtosecond‐Laser Synthesized PtBi Nanoalloys for Efficient Methanol Oxidation in Hybrid Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Platinum bismuth (PtBi) catalysts, synthesized ligand‐free via femtosecond laser ablation, excel in methanol oxidation reaction with 11.5 times higher mass activity than Pt/C. Bi enhances Pt's efficiency and durability, enabling stable seawater electrolysis for hydrogen production. This breakthrough advances sustainable energy solutions.
