Perspectives of Hydrogen Generation in Cavitation–Jet Hydrodynamic Reactor

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The article investigates the potential for producing hydrogen by combining the methods of water splitting under cavitation and the chemical activation of aluminum in a high-speed cavitation–jet flow generated by a specialized hydrodynamic reactor.

Study on the Evolution Patterns of Cavitation Clouds in Friction-Shear Cavitating Water Jets

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Current cavitating water jet technology for mineral liberation predominantly relies on the micro-jet impact generated by bubble collapse. Consequently, conventional nozzle designs often overlook the shear effects on mineral particles within the internal ...

Experimental investigation of unsteady characteristics of ventilated cavitation flow around an under-water vehicle

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2016
The objective of this article is to investigate the flow structure of the ventilated cavitation around an under-water vehicle. In the experiments, a high-speed camera system is used to observe cavity evolution of the unsteady cavitation flow, the ...

Experimental and numerical study on cavitation pulsating pressure of water-jet propulsion axial-flow pump.

open access: yesPLoS ONE
Cavitation may occur in water-jet pump during operation of water-jet propulsion vessel, and once cavitation occurs, the tip clearance pulsating pressure of the impeller may be intensified, resulting in increased vibration of the water-jet propulsion unit.

Numerical Simulation and Experimental Study on Cavitation Jet of Low-pressure Converging Expanding Nozzle

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2018
In view of the low erosion trenching efficiency of cone-shaped nozzle used in hydro-jet trenching, based on the theoretical analysis, a converging and expanding cavitation jet nozzle was designed.

Cavitation loading and erosion produced by a cavitating jet [PDF]

open access: yes
The aim of the project is to investigate the detail of cavitation loading and erosion process using a submerged jet cavitation technique. Large size cavitating jet apparatus in the University of Nottingham was used with an long orifice nozzle and experiments were carried out using tap water as a test liquid with upstream pressure ranging from 8D-120bar.
