Acoustic cavitation dynamics of bubble clusters near solid wall: A multiphase lattice Boltzmann approach

open access: yesUltrasonics Sonochemistry
Understanding the behavior of cavitation bubble clusters in an acoustic field is crucial for advancing the study of acoustic cavitation. This study uses the multi-relaxation time lattice Boltzmann method (MRT-LBM) to simulate the dynamics of cavitation ...

Effects of Direct Steam Injection and Spray‐Drying on the Physicochemical, Nutritional, and Functional Properties of Black Bean Protein Concentrates

open access: yesSustainable Food Proteins, Volume 4, Issue 3, September 2026.
Effects of direct steam injection and spray‐drying on the physicochemical, nutritional, and functional properties of black bean protein concentrates. ABSTRACT Direct steam injection (DSI) and spray‐drying are key unit operations in the industrial production of pulse protein ingredients that are often overlooked in laboratory‐scale studies.

Infective Endocarditis Diagnosed by Emergency Physicians Using Cardiac POCUS: A Case Series

open access: yesAustralasian Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine, Volume 29, Issue 3, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Emergency physicians (EPs) are acquiring ever‐increasing expertise in cardiac point‐of‐care ultrasound (POCUS). We compiled this case series to demonstrate current practice by EPs diagnosing infective endocarditis (IE) using POCUS.

Mechanistic Insights and Performance Advancements in Flow Capacitive Deionisation for Sustainable Energy Conversion

open access: yesElectrochemical Science Advances, Volume 6, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Flow capacitive deionisation is an advanced electrochemical technology for water purification and energy‐related applications. It represents a viable alternative to conventional desalination methods due to its low operating voltage, continuous electrode regeneration, and stable performance under moderate‐to‐high salinity conditions. The use of

Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 13, 8 July 2026.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

Comparison of Cavitation Erosion Test Results Between Vibratory and Cavitating Jet Methods

open access: yesFluid Power Systems and Technology, 1992
Abstract The relationship of the test results between the vibratory and cavitating jet methods was clarified experimentally. Six types of metallic specimens which were made of aluminum alloy, superduralumin, high-strength brass, stainless steel, carbon steel and chrome-molybdenum steel were tested.

Cavitation loading and erosion produced by a cavitating jet [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
The aim of the project is to investigate the detail of cavitation loading and erosion process using a submerged jet cavitation technique. Large size cavitating jet apparatus in the University of Nottingham was used with an long orifice nozzle and experiments were carried out using tap water as a test liquid with upstream pressure ranging from 8D-120bar.
