Inside‐Outside ROS Therapeutic Strategy Based on Piezoelectric Nano‐Urchin for Drug‐Resistant Bacteria Biofilm Infections

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The contribution of this study lies not only in enabling effective treatment of drug‐resistant biofilm infections, but also in establishing a transferable therapeutic paradigm: Ultrasound‐triggered mechanical forces synergistically enhance piezoelectric polarization and nanozyme activity, driving functional ROS generation inside and outside biofilms ...

Cavitation Damage Prediction of Stainless Steels Using an Artificial Neural Network Approach

open access: yesMetals, 2019
Cavitation damage has not been well predicted because of its complex relationship of many mechanical and microstructural factors. An artificial neural network approach of the back-propagation network was used to predict cavitation damage of stainless ...

Cavitation scaling experiments with headforms : bubble dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
Utilizing some novel instrumentation which allowed detection and location of individual cavitation bubbles in flows around headforms. Ceccio and Brennen (1991 and 1989) recently examined the interaction between individual bubbles and the structure of the

Bridged h‐BN Nanosheets Coatings: Simultaneous Shielding Atomic‐Oxygen Irradiation and Achieving Superior Friction Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT To confront extreme space environments, a combination of inorganic and organic coatings can provide a pathway for offering highly durable radiation resistance and anti‐friction simultaneously. Herein, a strong interfacial 3D hydrogen‐bonding network is designed to create robust hexagonal boron nitride (h‐BN) based polymer coatings with ...

Numerical and Experimental Analysis of a CLT Propeller Cavitation Behavior

open access: yes, 2012
In the present work, an analysis of a CP CLT propeller, functioning in stationary and non-stationary conditions, is presented. Results of model tests at the cavitation tunnel of the University of Genoa, in correspondence to different advance coefficients,

Pyridine‐Isomerism‐Driven Spin Engineering at a COP‐Fe3O4 Interface for High‐Performance Oxygen Reduction Electrocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Strategically adjusting the pyridine nitrogen position in the polymer matrix (pyridine isomerism) intensifies its interaction with embedded Fe3O4 nanocrystals. This enhanced interaction induces a spin‐state transition in Fe from low‐spin to intermediate‐spin, accompanied by refined d‐orbital properties.

Numerical investigation of cloud cavitation and cavitation noise on a hydrofoil section [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Partial cavitating flow and cloud cavitation on a hydrofoil section are numerically investigated. A fully compressible, density based homogeneous equilibrium model is employed along with a RANS turbulence model and high-order numerical methods based on a

Segmented Therapeutic Delivery via Acoustic Microbubble Relay

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
An acoustically driven, modular segmented delivery system is presented to overcome mechanical limitations of conventional microcatheters. Oscillating microbubbles generate directional streaming that enables continuous, targeted transport across open, angled segments.

Hydraulics of an Ogee Spillway with a Curved Plan: The Cade of Germichai Dam [PDF]

open access: yesمهندسی منابع آب, 2016
The Crest of an Ogee spillway with a curved plan is longer than that of one with a straight crest; therefore, its capacity for the overflow at any reservoir level is higher than that of the straight-crested spillway. Thus it is a preferred design in most

Cavitation Characteristics of Restriction Orifices (Experiment for Shock Pressure Distribution by Cavitation on Restriction Orifices and Occurrence of Cavitation at Multiperforated Orifices Due to Interference of Butterfly Valve)

open access: yes, 2001
This paper presents two experimental investigations for cavitation characteristics of restriction orifices. The first experiment is about the spatial distribution of cavitation shock pressure in a pipe at the downstream of restriction orifices.
