Cavitation erosion resistance of plastics

Wear, 2011
Abstract Cavitation erosion tests were carried out for plastics, i.e. for epoxy resin, polypropylene, high-density polyethylene and polyamide 66, and the relation between cavitation erosion resistance and the mechanical properties was examined. Cavitation erosion resistance of plastics ranges between half and 30 times that of carbon steel.

Cavitation resistance of various steels

Metal Science and Heat Treatment of Metals, 1959
1. After hardening and low tempering, tool steels U8, ShKh15, ShKh15SG, 9Kh, 9KhS, 9KhF, KhG, KhVG and Kh12F1, as well as high-chromium steels 1Kh 13, 2Kh13, 3Kh13, 4Kh13, Kh9S2, Kh10SZM and Kh18 tempered to 330–350 Brinell minimum, acquire a high resistance to cavitation. 2.

Cavitation-resistant high-alloyed chromium steels

Welding International, 2015
The structure and properties of high-alloy chromium steels, used in the manufacture of equipment, working in the conditions of erosion caused by cavitation, are analysed. The compositions and the mechanical properties of steels in the equipment for hydraulic turbines and circulation pumps of reactor systems are determined.

Cavitation resistance of concrete

Hydrotechnical Construction, 1980
It is required to continue investigations of the cavitation resistance of concretes with respect to aggregates (especially porous and portland cement clinker), combined action of cavitation and frost on corrosive media, and impregnation by monomers or other variants of the combination of concrete and polymers.

Cavitation resistance of copper-based alloys

Metal Science and Heat Treatment of Metals, 1962
1. The cavitation resistance of OTsS 6-6-3 bronze used for components of hydraulic press valves is very low; this alloy should not be used for parts exposed to cavitative action. The low resistance is due to the low strength of this alloy and to the fact that its structure contains lead inclusions. 2. Of the Cu-base alloys tested, the Br.

Cavitation Resistance of Thermal Spray Coatings

International Thermal Spray Conference, 1997
Abstract Cavitation and erosion damage to hydroelectric turbines and pumps can be a major problem. The effectiveness of thermal sprayed cavitation-erosion resistant coatings for hydroelectric turbine and pumps was evaluated. The coatings evaluated were applied using High Velocity Oxyfuel (HVOF) and Plasma Spray systems.

Resistance Against Cavitation Erosion of 14 Chromium Steels

Journal of Lubrication Technology, 1970
Abstract For 14 chromium steels of different composition and structure, cavitation-erosion damage has been studied and interpreted in terms of structure and strength properties. The use of chambered cylindrical specimens ensured a uniform attack from the very beginning of the erosion process and, thus, highly reproducible wear values. As
