Cavitation Wear Resistance of Engine Bearing Materials

Tribology Transactions, 1994
Tlie resistance to cavitation erosion of aluminum alloy, and cast and sinte-red lead-bronze, materials which are most frequently used for engine bearings, has been evaluated. The tests were carried out in motor oil at a temperature of 80°C, using a magnetostrictive vibratory tester (20 kHz). The results showed that the cavitation erosion resistance was

Cavitation erosion resistance of sewer pipe materials

Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers - Construction Materials, 2015
A cavitating high-pressure water-jet provided the means by which a range of materials (plastics, clay and concrete) were eroded. The measured erosion resistance was a proxy for an initially unknown combination of other properties: strength, fracture toughness, impact resistance, hardness, surface roughness, and limiting service temperature.
