Unusual “cavity-in-cavity” appearance of pulmonary aspergilloma

Journal of Computed Tomography, 1988
The classic radiographic appearance of pulmonary aspergilloma is a solid, round, often mobile intracavitary mass. We describe an unusual "cavity-in-cavity" appearance seen on conventional roentgenograms and computed tomography studies in two patients with confirmed pulmonary aspergilloma.

Moving cavity solitons in a Cavity Soliton Laser

CLEO/Europe - EQEC 2009 - European Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics and the European Quantum Electronics Conference, 2009
Cavity solitons (CSs) are bright intensity peaks over a dark homogeneous background. They arise in the coherent field transmitted by nonlinear optical resonators, and are generated through diffraction-mediated light-matter interaction which leads to field self-localization within the cavity [1].

Hæmangiopericytoma of the Nasal Cavity

Australian and New Zealand Journal of Surgery, 1972
Hæmangiopericytoma, first described by Stout and Murray in 1942, is a rare vascular tumour, related to the glomus tumour, in which the proliferating cell is the pericyte of Zimmerman, situated in the capillary wall outside the reliculin sheath. This position distinguishes the pericyte from endothelial cells in the capillary wall.

Cavity Cooling with a Hot Cavity

2002
Cavity cooling of arbitrary particles by coherent scattering is significantly improved inside resonators with optical gain. The friction force arises from frequency-selective amplification of the radiation emitted by the particle. As possible implementations of active cavity cooling we discuss a laser below threshold and an injection-locked laser ...

Spins in the Cavity—Cavity QED

2017
In this chapter I will focus on the brief description of the interaction between a single cavity field mode and single or ensembles of electron spins. Starting from the simplest case of a single two level system in the cavity, I introduce a formalism to treat ensembles of spins coupling to the cavity field mode.
