Effect of Soil Stabilization on Subgrade Soil Using Cement, Lime and Fly Ash

open access: yesEurasian Journal of Science and Engineering, 2020
Subgrade soil plays an important role in road structural design; therefore, poor subgrade soil may cause insufficient support for the pavement and may reduce its life. The poor properties subgrade soil should be replaced with a strong soil to improve the

Is CBR a technology or a methodology? [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
This paper asks whether case-based reasoning is an AI technology like rule-based reasoning, neural networks or genetic algorithms or whether it is better described as a methodology for problem solving, that may use any appropriate technology. By describing four applications of CBR, that variously use: nearest neighbour, induction, fuzzy logic and SQL ...

Investigation of random inclusion of bamboo fiber on ordinary soil and its effect CBR value

open access: yesInternational Journal of Geo-Engineering, 2018
Stability of any structure depends on strength properties of underground soil on which it is constructed. Structures basically transfer all the loads comes on itself directly to the ground.

Distinct Neuropsychiatric Profiles Associated With 17p11.2 Deletions and RAI1 Variants in Smith–Magenis Syndrome

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Smith–Magenis syndrome (SMS) results from either a recurrent 17p11.2 deletion or pathogenic variants in the retinoic acid induced 1 gene (RAI1). While neurodevelopmental impairment and behavioral dysregulation are well recognized, systematic genotype‐stratified analyses across psychiatric domains remain limited.

Assessment of CD200R Activation in Combination with Doxycycline in a Model of Melioidosis

open access: yesMicrobiology Spectrum, 2023
Antimicrobial resistance continues to be a global issue. Pathogens, such as Burkholderia pseudomallei, have evolved mechanisms to efflux certain antibiotics and manipulate the host response.

Quantitative muscle architecture in large carnivorous marsupials (Marsupialia: Dasyuridae) and links to substrate use and prey processing

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The Dasyurid species Sarcophilus harrisii, Dasyurus maculatus, and Dasyurus viverrinus, occupying diverse ecological niches and forming a guild structure in Tasmania, provide a basis for examining the roles of various forelimb muscle groups in prey capture and locomotion.

Scars on the CBR?

open access: yes, 1997
We ask whether the universe can be a patchwork consisting of distinct regions of matter and antimatter. In previous work we demonstrated that post-recombination matter-antimatter contact near regional boundaries leads to an observable (but unobserved) gamma-ray flux for domain sizes of less than a few thousand Mpc, thereby excluding such domains.
