Is CBR a technology or a methodology? [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
This paper asks whether case-based reasoning is an AI technology like rule-based reasoning, neural networks or genetic algorithms or whether it is better described as a methodology for problem solving, that may use any appropriate technology. By describing four applications of CBR, that variously use: nearest neighbour, induction, fuzzy logic and SQL ...

CBR System for Diagnosis of Patients [PDF]

open access: yes2008 Eighth International Conference on Hybrid Intelligent Systems, 2008
Microarray technology allows to measure the expression levels of thousands of genes in an experiment. The use of computational methods is fundamental in cancer research. One of the possibilities is the use of Artificial Intelligence techniques. Several of these techniques have been used to analyze expression arrays.

Efficacy and Safety of Subcutaneous Efgartigimod PH20 in Adults With Primary Immune Thrombocytopenia (ADVANCE SC): A Multicenter, Randomized, Double‐Blinded, Placebo‐Controlled, Phase 3 Trial

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Hematology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Primary autoimmune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is characterized by thrombocytopenia, bleeding, and reduced health‐related quality of life. In the Phase 3 ADVANCE IV study, intravenous efgartigimod induced significant platelet count responses versus placebo in patients with chronic ITP. ADVANCE SC, a Phase 3, multicenter, randomized, double‐blinded,

Integration of linked open data in case-based reasoning systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper discusses the opportunities of integrating Linked Open Data (LOD) resources into Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) systems. Upon the application domain travel medicine, we will exemplify how LOD can be used to fill three out of four knowledge ...

Unicast Barrage Relay Networks: Outage Analysis and Optimization

open access: yes, 2015
Barrage relays networks (BRNs) are ad hoc networks built on a rapid cooperative flooding primitive as opposed to the traditional point-to-point link abstraction. Controlled barrage regions (CBRs) can be used to contain this flooding primitive for unicast

Scars on the CBR?

open access: yes, 1997
We ask whether the universe can be a patchwork consisting of distinct regions of matter and antimatter. In previous work we demonstrated that post-recombination matter-antimatter contact near regional boundaries leads to an observable (but unobserved) gamma-ray flux for domain sizes of less than a few thousand Mpc, thereby excluding such domains.

Disturbance of The CBR by Isothermal Perturbations [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1987
Following the standard scenario of galaxy formation, density fluctuations with amplitude δ∼10−3 should have been present at the recombination time tR in order that galaxies and clusters of galaxies can be formed. Recent observations of the anisotropy of the cosmic background radiation(CBR), however, indicate that δ is less than 10−4 at tR for adiabatic

Quantitative muscle architecture in large carnivorous marsupials (Marsupialia: Dasyuridae) and links to substrate use and prey processing

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The Dasyurid species Sarcophilus harrisii, Dasyurus maculatus, and Dasyurus viverrinus, occupying diverse ecological niches and forming a guild structure in Tasmania, provide a basis for examining the roles of various forelimb muscle groups in prey capture and locomotion.

Gravitational Lensing and Anisotropies of CBR on the Small Angular Scales [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
We investigate the effect of gravitational lensing, produced by linear density perturbations, for anisotropies of the Cosmic Background Radiation (CBR) on scales of arcminutes.

Context‐centric proactive information delivery for Knowledge Work support: Opportunities, challenges, and directions. An Annual Review of Information Science and Technology (ARIST)

open access: yesJournal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract Context‐centric proactive information delivery (PID) is a relatively underexplored domain within recommender systems (RS) aimed at enhancing Knowledge Workers' productivity by proactively providing relevant information during digital tasks.
