Knowledge Gaps, Treatment Preferences, and Unmet Clinical Needs Among Patients With Inflammatory Bowel Disease: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study utilized a cross‐sectional survey via a structured questionnaire to evaluate disease‐related knowledge, treatment preferences, and unmet needs among 200 adults with confirmed inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) at a tertiary referral center.

Quantification of Homopolymer Impurities in Structured Acrylate Copolymers Produced by High‐Temperature Semi‐Batch Radical Polymerization

open access: yesMacromolecular Reaction Engineering, EarlyView.
Isobornyl acrylate macromonomer solutions are synthesized via high‐temperature radical polymerization using a starved‐feed semi‐batch operating policy. Through sequential feeding, the macromonomer solution functions as an addition‐fragmentation agent, facilitating the production of blocky and comb acrylate copolymers.

Educating Hematology-Oncology Fellows About How to Communicate with Patients About Clinical Trials: A Needs Assessment

open access: yesJournal of Medical Education and Curricular Development
Objectives Only 5–8% of adults with cancer participate in cancer clinical trials (CCTs), with even lower rates among underrepresented groups. Improving oncologists’ communication skills may enhance the frequency and quality of their discussions with ...

Determinants of CCT motif specificity in WNK signaling and expansion of CCT like domains

open access: yes
WNK kinases regulate ion transport and cell volume through interactions with partner proteins such as SPAK, OSR1, NRBP and TSC22D proteins. These interactions are mediated by conserved C-terminal (CCT) domains that recognize short sequence motifs, but the rules governing this recognition remain incompletely defined.

A Droplet‐Microarray Platform for Multiplex Profiling of Breast Cancer Exosome Subtypes in Patients’ Blood Plasma Samples

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
This study presents a droplet‐microarray platform integrated with a DNase I‐assisted MoS2 FRET aptasensor for multiplexed profiling of breast cancer subtypes’ exosomes from patients’ plasma. By targeting HER2, MUC1, and CD44, the system enables sensitive detection and accurate discrimination of luminal A, HER2‐positive, and triple‐negative subtypes ...

Easily Accessible and Up‐Scalable Aliphatic Bis‐Formamides with Afterglow Luminescence: Photoluminescence Properties and Applications

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A bis formamide molecule was found to feature afterglow properties, in both crystalline powder state and in polyvinyl alcohol films. This was attributed to the intermolecular packing that allows H‐trapped emitting state and/or clustering‐triggered emission, which was intensified upon insertion of tetramethylbenzidine as a doping agent.

Visible‐light‐promoted catalyst‐free benzylic C‐H oxidation using molecular oxygen as a green oxidant

open access: yesSmart Molecules, EarlyView.
A green and simple photo‐oxygenation of benzylic C‐H bond with molecular oxygen was developed for the preparation of a series of carbonyl compounds. The straightforward C‐H carbonylation strategy features catalyst‐ and additive‐free reaction conditions, only oxygen as a green oxidant, broad scope and scalable, and the simple‐operation nature.

Alteration of Phase Transformation Behavior and Prior Austenite Grain Structure Due to Elevated Tramp Element Concentrations in a Hypoeutectoid Steel

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
The phase transformation behavior of a hypoeutectoid steel is studied in comparison with alloys containing higher concentrations of tramp elements, simulating high recycling rates. The examination of microstructures reveals that the tramp elements facilitate the formation of displacive phases along with retained austenite.
