Expression of Human CD226 on T Cells and Natural Killer Cells and of Soluble CD226 in Plasma of HIV-1-Infected Chinese Patients

Viral Immunology, 2006
Our objective was to detect the expression of CD226 on natural killer (NK) cells and T cells, and to measure the amount of soluble CD226 in the plasma of HIV-infected individuals, in order to evaluate the function of CD226 in HIV infection. Thirty-four untreated HIV-1-infected patients and 26 normal controls were enrolled and three-color flow cytometry

Preparation and Characterization of MAbs Against Different Epitopes of CD226 (PTA1)

Hybridoma, 2000
Recently the platelet and T-cell activation antigen 1 (PTA1) was assigned as CD226 at the 7th Conference and Workshop on Human Leukocyte Differentiation antigens (HLDA). PTA1 is mainly expressed on activated T cells, natural killer (NK) cells, platelets and stimulated endotheliocytes, and involved in the differentiation of cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL)

Costimulatory Molecule CD226 Regulates Atopic Dermatitis in a Mouse Model

Journal of Investigative Dermatology
This study investigated the role of CD226 in a 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene (DNCB)-induced mouse model of atopic dermatitis. The results showed that the lack of CD226 (global and CD4+ T-cell specific) significantly increased ear thickness, reddening, swelling, and scaling of the skin as well as inflammatory cell and mast cell infiltration.

Deficiency of platelet adhesion molecule CD226 causes megakaryocyte development and platelet hyperactivity

The FASEB Journal, 2020
Abstract This study used constitutive CD226 gene knockout (KO) mice as a model to investigate the functions and mechanisms of CD226 in megakaryocyte (MK) maturation and platelet activation. Although CD226 deficiency did not cause MK polyploidization or platelet granule abnormalities, increased MK counts were detected in the femora ...

Recombinant soluble CD226 protein directly inhibits cancer cell proliferation in vitro

International Immunopharmacology, 2014
Interactions between CD155 and nectins on tumor cells have been reported to potentially inhibit tumor growth. CD226, a receptor that recognizes CD155 and CD112, is an activation receptor of NK and T cells by which immune cells may attack a tumor. The purpose of this study is to explore whether soluble CD226 (sCD226) directly inhibits tumor growth by ...

PATU11 IL2RA and CD226 genotypes influence multiple sclerosis disease outcome

Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery & Psychiatry, 2010
Introduction MS is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the central nervous system. Whole genome analysis has identified discrete chromosomal regions outside the most powerfully associated MHC region that might harbour susceptibility genes: IL2RA , IL7R , TYK2 , CD226 and CLEC16.

CD226 (DNAM-1) is associated with susceptibility to juvenile idiopathic arthritis

Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases, 2015
Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is considered a complex genetic autoimmune disease. We investigated the association of genetic variants previously implicated in JIA, autoimmunity and/or immunoregulation, with susceptibility to JIA.A genetic association study was performed in 639 JIA patients and 1613 healthy controls of northwest European descent ...

[CD226 knockout aggravates radiation-induced liver injury in mice].

Xi bao yu fen zi mian yi xue za zhi = Chinese journal of cellular and molecular immunology, 2019
Objective To investigate the effect of CD226 knockout (KO) on radiation-induced liver injury in mice. Methods Wild-type (WT) and CD226KO mice were randomly divided into naive group and irradiated group. The mice in the irradiated group were exposed to an 8 Gy of 60Co γ-radiation. The survival rate was observed and body mass loss was measured.
