Study of Peripheral Mononuclear Cells and CD34 Levels as a Predictive Marker for Initiating Apheresis in Autologous Stem Cell Transplant

open access: yesInternational Journal of Hematology-Oncology and Stem Cell Research, 2021
Background: Autologous HCT in multiple myeloma is done as upfront treatment in newly diagnosed transplant eligible patients after induction chemotherapy.

Optimization of B Cell Responses in Human Immune System Mice Through Organoid Based Screening

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Human immune system (HIS) mice show limited B cell responses to immunization. Using HIS mouse spleen organoids, this study identifies cytokine combinations and innate immune signals that drive human B cell expansion, differentiation, and class‐switch. Applying these signals in vivo through temporal separation enables antigen‐specific IgG responses and ...

Allogeneic human umbilical cord Wharton’s jelly stem cells increase several-fold the expansion of human cord blood CD34+ cells both in vitro and in vivo

open access: yesStem Cell Research & Therapy, 2020
Background The transplantation of human umbilical cord blood (UCB) CD34+ cells has been successfully used to treat hematological disorders but one major limitation has been the low cell numbers available.

Association between height and circulating CD34-positive cells taken into account for the influence of enhanced production among elderly Japanese men: a cross-sectional study

open access: yes, 2019
Recent studies have revealed an inverse association between height and cardiovascular disease and that endothelial progenitor cells(CD34-positive cells) contribute to vascular maintenance, which is associated with cardiovascular disease. However, evidence

Endogenous Engineering Reprograms Extracellular Vesicles for Enhanced Therapeutic Function

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review explains how Extracellular vesicles‐producing cells can be endogenously engineered to load therapeutic proteins and nucleic acids. We summarize physiological and genetic strategies that harness native sorting pathways for selective cargo loading.

New Insights on Efficacy and Safety Autologous CD34+ Stem Cells for Refractory Angina: Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Comparative Long- versus Short-term Therapy

open access: yesJournal of Preventive, Diagnostic and Treatment Strategies in Medicine
BACKGROUND: Current studies suggest that refractory angina management remains suboptimal. On the other hand, CD34+ autologous stem cells have shown to be potential in improving coronary microcirculation and enhancing clinical effect.

Cord blood-derived CD34+ hematopoietic cells with low mitochondrial mass are enriched in hematopoietic repopulating stem cell function

open access: yesHaematologica, 2013
The homeostasis of the hematopoietic stem/progenitor cell pool relies on a fine-tuned balance between self-renewal, differentiation and proliferation. Recent studies have proposed that mitochondria regulate these processes.

Functional activity of murine CD34+and CD34− hematopoietic stem cell populations

open access: yesExperimental Hematology, 1999
The transmembrane glycoprotein CD34 is expressed on human hematopoietic stem cells and committed progenitors in the bone marrow, and CD34-positive selection currently is used to isolate bone marrow repopulating cells in clinical transplantation protocols.

Hyperlipidemia Aggravates Alveolar Bone Loss via Periodontal Ligament Stem Cell Ferroptosis Through GSK3β Dependent Ubiquitin‐Mediated NRF2 Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lipid metabolic stress triggers ferroptosis in PDLSCs through the GSK3β/NRF2 pathway, thereby aggravating periodontal bone loss. Upregulated GSK3β promotes NRF2 ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation via β‐TrCP, suppressing NRF2 nuclear translocation and antioxidant target expression.

Human Umbilical Cord Blood–Derived CD34+Cells Can Be Used as a Prophylactic Agent for Experimental Heatstroke

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2008
We attempted to assess the prophylactic effect of human umbilical cord blood–derived CD34+cells in experimental heatstroke. Anesthetized rats, 1 day before heat stress, were divided into 2 major groups and given CD34−cells (defined by 1 × 106human cord ...
