Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Cadmium Adsorption on Chitosan/Chlorella Biomass Sorbent Prepared by Ionic-Imprinting Technique

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Chemistry, 2015
Ionic-Imprinted Chitosan/Chlorella biomass sorbent (IICCb) has been synthesized for selective adsorption of Cd(II) adsorption. IICCb was prepared by coating Cd(II)-complexed-chitosan hydrogel on the biomass surface followed by cross-linking procedure. Cd(

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Mechanistic investigation of the associations between bacterial community composition and cadmium distribution in Zizania latifolia

open access: yesEcotoxicology and Environmental Safety
The role of bacteria in external niches regulating cadmium (Cd(II)) in plant tissues remains unclear. We explored Cd(II) profiles and identified bacterial contributors among phyllosphere, rhizoplane, and rhizosphere of four Zizania latifolia varieties ...

Proteasomal degradation of intracellularly expressed Amblyomin‐X limits suicide gene therapy potential in melanoma cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study explores the feasibility of expressing the antitumoral protein Amblyomin‐X through a suicide gene therapy approach and investigates its intracellular fate after gene delivery. Although the gene is efficiently expressed, melanoma cells rapidly degrade the Amblyomin‐X protein via proteasome activity.

Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and biochar synergistically enhance Cd(II) phytoremediation in Koelreuteria bipinnata

open access: yesEcotoxicology and Environmental Safety
Cadmium (Cd(II)) contamination is a global environmental issue. While synergistic interactions between arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) and biochar may enhance Cd(II) phytoremediation in plants, the combined effects on Koelreuteria bipinnata and their ...

AMINO AND MERCAPTO-SILICA HYBRID FOR Cd(II) ADSORPTION IN AQUEOUS SOLUTION

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Chemistry, 2010
Modification of silica gel with 3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane and 3-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane through sol-gel technique producing amino-silica hybrid (HAS) and mercapto-silica hybrid (HMS), respectively, has been carried out using ...
