Growth, structural and vibrating properties of CdSe–Ge, CdSe–Ge–CdSe, CdSe–Ge/Ge, Ge–GeSe heterostructure nanowires and GeSe nanobelts

CrystEngComm, 2011
CdSe–Ge, CdSe–Ge–CdSe heterostructure nanowires, CdSe–Ge biaxial nanowire core/polycrystalline Ge sheath heterostructures, Ge–GeSe biaxial nanowires and GeSe nanobelts were grown via a simple one-step thermal evaporation of different molar ratios of CdSe and Ge, respectively.

Coupled Composite CdS−CdSe and Core−Shell Types of (CdS)CdSe and (CdSe)CdS Nanoparticles

The Journal of Physical Chemistry, 1996
Addition of H2S and H2Se, in different proportions, to aqueous Cd(ClO4)2 solutions containing (NaPO3)6 led to the formation of coupled composite CdS−CdSe nanoparticles. Conversely, the sequential introduction of different amounts of H2S and H2Se (or H2Se and H2S) into aqueous Cd(ClO4)2 solutions containing (NaPO3)6 produced core−shell type (CdS)CdSe ...

CdSe/PMMA: Plastic fiber material containing CdSe quantum dots

Optics & Laser Technology, 2012
Abstract An optical gain plastic, CdSe/PMMA, poly-methyl methacrylate doped with CdSe quantum dot (QD), is reported in this study. With a narrow size distribution of the QD prepared by organic synthesis, the measured results show that the photoluminescence (PL) peak intensity is enhanced by ∼2.5 times, FWHM broadened by ∼10 nm, and the PL peak ...

Be-enhanced CdSe island formation in CdSe/ZnSe heterostructures

Journal of Applied Physics, 2000
The Be-enhanced formation of CdSe quantum dots in CdSe/ZnSe heterostructures grown by migration enhanced epitaxy on (001)GaAs substrates has been investigated using photoluminescence spectroscopy, x-ray techniques (diffraction and reflectometry), and transmission electron microscopy.

Optimized Conditions for the Self-Organization of CdSe-Au and CdSe-CdSe Binary Nanoparticle Superlattices

Chemistry of Materials, 2008
The formation process of CdSe-Au binary nanoparticle superlattices (BNSLs) was investigated to elucidate the optimal conditions for self-assembly. Nanoparticle mixtures were prepared under suitable and variable solvent evaporation conditions and the products analyzed by TEM.

Probing cytotoxicity of CdSe and CdSe/CdS quantum dots

Chinese Chemical Letters, 2011
Abstract Toxicities of CdSe and CdSe/CdS quantum dots (QDs) synthesized by ultrasound-assisted methods were investigated in vitro and in vivo. Five human cell lines were used to assess the cytotoxicity of as-prepared CdSe and CdSe/CdS by assays of MTT viability, red blood cell hemolysis, flow cytometry, and fluorescence imaging. The results show that

PbSe/CdSe and PbSe/CdSe/ZnSe Hierarchical Nanocrystals and Their Photoluminescence

Langmuir, 2011
Multiple CdSe and ZnSe semiconductor shells were grown on PbSe semiconductor spherical cores with monolayer control. For CdSe shell coating, we found that there was little room to further increase the quantum yields of freshly-made high-quality PbSe nanocrystals that already owned very high initial values because of their good surface status; but there

Water-soluble CdSe and CdSe/CdS nanocrystals: A greener synthetic route

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2006
We report a new green synthetic route of CdSe and core-shell CdSe/CdS nanoparticles (NPs) in aqueous solutions. This route is performed under water-bath temperature, using Se powder as a selenium source to prepare CdSe NPs, and H(2)S generated by the reaction of Na(2)SH(2)SO(4) as a sulfur source to synthesize core-shell CdSe/CdS NPs at 25-35 degrees C.

Investigation of Trion Emission in CdSe/CdSeS Core/Crown Nanoplatelets

The Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters
Quasi-two-dimensional CdSe nanoplatelets (NPLs) exhibit promising potential for optoelectronic device applications due to their unique optical properties, particularly trion emission. However, the origin of the trion emission in CdSe NPLs remains unclear.
