Features of the hydrophilization of CdSe quantum dots
Nanotechnologies in Russia, 2012The hydrophilization of CdSe quantum dots (QDs) obtained by a high-temperature method has been studied. For this purpose, the particles stabilized by hydrophobic shells of trioctylphosphine and trioctylphosphine oxide were additionally covered with molecules of hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide, which caused the formation of a secondary hydrophilic ...

Solution Precipitation of CdSe Quantum Dots
MRS Proceedings, 1992ABSTRACTSynthesis of CdSe quantum dots with a high degree of monodispersity is achieved by nucleation from a supersaturated solution followed by growth to the desired particle size. The effects of temperature on the kinetic mechanisms of nucleation and growth were observed.

Optical properties of CdSe quantum dots
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2003Ab initio absorption spectra and optical gaps for CdnSenâ(n=17,26,38) quantum dots are calculated using time-dependent density functional theory within the local density approximation. The spectra computed using the time-dependent local density approximation technique differ from the ones calculated using conventional approaches in both absorption ...

Spectral Characteristics of CdSe Quantum Dots
2006 Joint 31st International Conference on Infrared Millimeter Waves and 14th International Conference on Teraherz Electronics, 2006The absorption and emission spectra of the CdSe quantum dots about 3-nm diameter are measured. The peak value of the absorption cross-section is determined by Beer-Lambert law according to the concentration of the quantum dots in the toluene sample and the particle diameter.

Photoconductivity in CdSe quantum dot solids
Physical Review B, 2000We report measurements of photoconductivity and electric field induced photoluminescence quenching in three-dimensional close-packed solids of colloidal CdSe quantum dots. Our measurements suggest that photoexcited, quantum confined excitons are ionized by the applied electric field with a rate that depends on both the size and surface passivation of ...

Intrinsic Chirality of CdSe/ZnS Quantum Dots and Quantum Rods
Nano Letters, 2015A new class of chiral nanoparticles is of great interest not only for nanotechnology, but also for many other fields of scientific endeavor. Normally the chirality in semiconductor nanocrystals is induced by the initial presence of chiral ligands/stabilizer molecules.

Simple Syntheses of CdSe Quantum Dots
Journal of Chemical Education, 2014Quantum dots are an excellent resource for demonstrating quantum phenomena. Two new methods for synthesizing quantum dots are presented. Proceeding at relatively low reaction temperatures, these exercises are safe and easy to conduct in an undergraduate student laboratory.

To the size distribution of the CdSe quantum dots
Thirteenth International Conference on Correlation Optics, 2018In the framework of the modified for 3D-system and for surface (2D-system) of the Lifshitz-Slezov-Wagner theory, a comparison of the theoretically calculated size distribution with the experimental histograms of CdSe quantum dots was performed. Agreement of experimental histograms with theoretically calculated curves testifies the possibility of ...

Polarization of Colloidal CdSe Quantum Dots
Journal of the Korean Physical Society, 2008The e ects of the polarization of colloidal CdSe QDs on the optical transitions are discussed based on systematic studies of a colloidal CdSe-based QDs system as a function of the net QDs' polarity/polarization and of the solvent's polarity. The polarization of the QD/ligand complexes makes them water-soluble after appropriate cleaning processes.

Laser cooling of CdSe quantum dots
SPIE Proceedings, 2014We present a theoretical scheme for laser cooling of the colloidal cadmium selenide (CbSe) QDs. The laser cooling process is based on the anti-Stokes fluorescence observed in QDs. We have considered laser cooling in the system of identical CdSe QDs laser pumped with energy of photons less than mean fluorescence energy.
