Molecular Recognition of Biomolecules by Chiral CdSe Quantum Dots [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2016
AbstractMolecular recognition is one of the most important phenomena in Chemistry and Biology. Here we present a new way of enantiomeric molecular recognition using intrinsically chiral semiconductor nanocrystals as assays. Real-time confocal microscopy studies supported by circular dichroism spectroscopy data and theoretical modelling indicate an ...

Ligand Induced Circular Dichroism and Circularly Polarized Luminescence in CdSe Quantum Dots

open access: yesACS Nano, 2013
Chiral thiol capping ligands L- and D-cysteines induced modular chiroptical properties in achiral cadmium selenide quantum dots (CdSe QDs). Cys-CdSe prepared from achiral oleic acid capped CdSe by post-synthetic ligand exchange displayed size-dependent ...

Electron Transport in Quantum Dot Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
This work reveals that electron transport in core/multi‐shell quantum dots is severely hindered by traps located at the core‐shell interface. These traps follow a Gaussian energy distribution with a density of approximately 1023 m−3 and a common energy level of 4.0 eV below the vacuum level.

Incoherent exciton echo on the CdSe/CdS/ZnS semiconductor quantum dots [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2019
The possibility and conditions of an incoherent exciton echo excitation in a thin layer of the CdSe/CdS/ZnS semiconductor quantum dots spread on a glass substrate are discussed.

Experimentally Determined Spatiotemporal Charge Carrier Dynamics for the Development of Particulate Photocatalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This review looks at the different experimental techniques that measure spatiotemporal charge carrier dynamics. This information is viewed in the context of particulate photocatalysts, outlining the insights these techniques provide and how they advance our understanding.

Investigation of carbon nanotube quantum dots connected to ferromagnetic leads [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The implementation of ferromagnetic contacts in complex nanoelectronic devices, e.g. in spin-valves bears great potential for applications and fundamental investigations. Spin-valves are structures with two magnetic contacts and a non-magnetic medium (

Ultrafast dynamics in InAs quantum dot and GaInNAs quantum well semiconductor heterostructures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The quantum confined Stark effect (QCSE) and ultrafast absorption dynamics near the bandedge have been investigated in p-i-n waveguides comprising quantum confined heterostructures grown on GaAs substrates, for emission at 1.3um.

Effect of Dot Size on Exciton Binding Energy and Electron-Hole Recombination Probability in CdSe Quantum Dots. [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Chemical Theory and Computation, 2013
Exciton binding energy and electron-hole recombination probability are presented as the two important metrics for investigating effect of dot size on electron-hole interaction in CdSe quantum dots.
