Regulation of DNA Replication Licensing and Re-Replication by Cdt1 [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2021
In eukaryotic cells, DNA replication licensing is precisely regulated to ensure that the initiation of genomic DNA replication in S phase occurs once and only once for each mitotic cell division. A key regulatory mechanism by which DNA re-replication is suppressed is the S phase-dependent proteolysis of Cdt1, an essential replication protein for ...

An Inactive Geminin Mutant That Binds Cdt1

open access: yesGenes, 2015
The initiation of DNA replication is tightly regulated in order to ensure that the genome duplicates only once per cell cycle. In vertebrate cells, the unstable regulatory protein Geminin prevents a second round of DNA replication by inhibiting the essential replication factor Cdt1.

Regulation of Geminin and Cdt1 expression by E2F transcription factors [PDF]

open access: yesOncogene, 2004
Geminin and Cdt1 play an essential role in the initiation of DNA replication, by regulating the chromatin loading of the MCM complex. In this study, we showed that the transcription of human Geminin and Cdt1, as well as that of MCM7, is activated by transcription factors E2F1-4, but not by factors E2F5-7.

CDT1, a licensing factor that limits rereplication

Molecular Cell, 2023
Cells must avoid licensing of neosynthesized DNA to prevent rereplication. In this issue of Molecular Cell, Ratnayeke et al. (2022)1 reveal how the licensing factor CDT1, prior to its degradation, inhibits DNA elongation by suppressing CMG helicase progression at replication forks.

Oncogenic potential of the DNA replication licensing protein CDT1 [PDF]

open access: yesOncogene, 2002
The expression of a gene, designated as Retroviral insertion site (Ris)2, was activated by retroviral DNA integration in an immortalized primitive erythroid cell line, EB-PE. Ris2 was also expressed at high levels in all human tumor cell lines analysed.
