Electron Spectroscopy of CdMeTe Nanostructures Created on CdTe Surface Under Ion Bombardment [PDF]
The electronic structure of CdMeTe nanostructures was studied by a variety of techniques of secondary and photoelectron spectroscopy. Particularly, for the first time it has been shown that in the conductivity band of the CdZnTe films there are maximums ...

Hard X-ray polarimetry with Caliste, a high performance CdTe based imaging spectrometer [PDF]
Since the initial exploration of soft gamma-ray sky in the 60's, high-energy celestial sources have been mainly characterized through imaging, spectroscopy and timing analysis. Despite tremendous progress in the field, the radiation mechanisms at work in

Performance-limiting Defects in CdZnTe Detectors [PDF]
We studied the effects of small, < 20 mum, Te inclusions on the energy resolution of CdZnTe gamma-ray detectors using a highly collimated X-ray beam and gamma-rays, and modeled them via a simplified geometrical approach. Previous reports demonstrated that Te inclusions of about a few microns in diameter degraded the charge-transport properties and ...

Development of an orthogonal-stripe CdZnTe gamma radiation imaging spectrometer [PDF]
We report performance measurements of a sub-millimeter resolution CdZnTe strip detector developed as a prototype for astronomical instruments operating with good efficiency in the 30-300 keV photon energy range.

An alternative search for the electron capture of Te-123
A search for the electron capture of Te-123 has been performed using CdZnTe detectors. After a measuring time of 195 h no signal could be found resulting in a lower half-life limt of $T_{1/2} > 3.2 \cdot 10^{16}$ yrs (95 % CL) for this process.

XTRA: The fast X-ray timing detector on XEUS [PDF]
The Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer (RXTE) has demonstrated that the dynamical variation of the X-ray emission from accreting neutron stars and stellar mass black holes is a powerful probe of their strong gravitational fields.

Advances in Halide Perovskites for Photon Radiation Detectors
This work highlights recent progress in perovskite‐based photon radiation detectors, covering organic–inorganic hybrid, inorganic, lead‐free double, and vacancy‐ordered halide perovskites. Their detection performance is compared, material‐specific advantages and challenges are examined, and provides insight into current limitations and future ...

Performance of three-photon PET imaging: Monte Carlo simulations
We have recently introduced the idea of making use of three-photon positron annihilations in positron emission tomography. In this paper the basic characteristics of the three-gamma imaging in PET are studied by means of Monte Carlo simulations and ...
