Resolving the Structural Duality of Graphene Grain Boundaries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Cantilever ncAFM resolves the atomic structure of grain boundaries in graphene, revealing coexisting stable and metastable types. Both contain pentagon/heptagon defects, but metastable GBs show irregular geometries. Modeling shows metastable GBs form under compression, exhibiting vertical corrugation, while stable GBs are flat.

Tumor markers in heart failure [PDF]

open access: yesRomanian Journal of Medical Practice, 2016
It has been widely demonstrated that patients diagnosed with chronic heart failure present high levels of circulating neurohormones and inflammation markers which can secondarily induce an increase of the level of tumor markers such as CA 125, AFP, CEA ...

Cloning of the Complete Gene for Carcinoembryonic Antigen [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) is a widely used tumor marker, especially in the surveillance of colonic cancer patients. Although CEA is also present in some normal tissues, it is apparently expressed at higher levels in tumorous tissues than in ...
