Detecting Antibiotic Resistance in Strains of Selected Gram‐Negative Bacterial Species Using Raman Spectroscopy

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, EarlyView.
Raman spectroscopy successfully identified antibiotic‐resistant Gram‐negative strains. Resistant strains of four bacterial species were discriminated from sensitive ones with 99.1% accuracy using PLS regression. The method allows for rapid, label‐free detection of antibiotic resistance.

Electrochemical sensor for the detection of serine β-lactamase catalytic activity

open access: yesChimica Techno Acta
A new approach is proposed based on the use of electrodes modified with carbon nanomaterials to determine enzymatic activity and screening for inhibitors of serine β-lactamases such as extended spectrum β-lactamases (ESBLs). These enzymes are responsible

Ampicillin-Gentamycin Were Equivalent to Cefotaxime-Gentamycin Therapy Outcome on Neonatal Sepsis in Rural Area of West Borneo

open access: yesJurnal Profesi Medika, 2022
The limited facilities in rural areas, such as Ketapang, make it hard for clinicians in charge to provide the most effective treatment while also considering preventing irrational antibiotic usage at once for neonatal sepsis.

Ceftazidime and cefotaxime--the clinician's choice. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
A review of two third-generation cephalosporins, ceftazidime and cefotaxime, is presented. Ceftazidime, often used as a single agent, has shown greater activity than cefotaxime against Pseudomonas aeruginosa and other Pseudomonas species ...

Chromatographic analysis of immobilized cefotaxime [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The aim of the present work was to widen the application of an in-house developed fast, flexible and sensitive high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method to the assessment of cefotaxime sodium from aqueous samples.

Modified planar sensors for the separate detection of certain cephalosporin antibiotics [PDF]

open access: yesИзвестия Саратовского университета. Новая серия: Серия Химия. Биология. Экология
Modifi ed screen-printed potentiometric sensors sensitive to cephalosporin antibiotics – cefuroxime (Cefur), cefotaxime (Ceftx), cefazolin (Cef) have been developed. Tetradecylammonium associates with complex compounds silver (I) – cefuroxime

Isolation of carbapenem‐resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa and other Gram‐negative ESKAPE organisms from samples of raw‐meat diets for dogs in the UK

open access: yesVeterinary Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Gram‐negative ESKAPE organisms are an emerging threat in veterinary medicine that also have zoonotic potential. However, little is known about the prevalence and risks of these organisms in pet food. We present the incidental finding of gram‐negative ESKAPE organisms within samples of raw meat diets for dogs in the United Kingdom ...
