EphA4 is not required for Purkinje cell compartmentation
Developmental Brain Research, 2002The Purkinje cells of both the adult and the developing cerebellar cortex are organized into parasagittal stripes or 'segments' expressing a variety of biochemical markers. We show that in the developing mouse cerebellar cortex, members of the Eph receptor gene family are expressed in mediolaterally alternating Purkinje cell segments.

Compartmentalization of human natural killer cells

NK cells that migrate toward inflamed sites must be activated prior to their extravasation. However, the factors responsible for NK cell compartmentalization are not clearly defined.

A Compartmentalized Device for the Culture of Animal Cells
Biomaterials, Artificial Cells and Artificial Organs, 1989A simply-constructed device for the batch culture of animal cells is described that takes advantage of gas-permeable polymer films and continuous dialysis of nutrient fluids. The design separates a cell-growth chamber from a nutrient-medium reservoir with a dialysis membrane, effectively compartmentalizing growth and feeding functions.
