Locomotion and proliferation of glioblastoma cells in vitro: statistical evaluation of videomicroscopic observations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 1999
Long-term videomicroscopy and computer-aided statistical analysis were used to determine some characteristic parameters of in vitro cell motility and proliferation in three established cell lines derived from human glioblastoma tumors. Migration and proliferation activities were compared among the three cell lines since these are two features of tumor ...

Generation of an iPSC line from a retinitis pigmentosa patient carrying a homozygous mutation in CERKL and a healthy sibling

open access: yesStem Cell Research, 2019
Dermal fibroblasts from an autosomal recessive retinitis pigmentosa (RP) patient, homozygous for the mutation c.769 C>T, p.Arg257Ter, in CERKL (Ceramide Kinase-Like) gene, and a healthy sibling were derived and reprogrammed by Sendai virus. The generated

Investigation on environmental factors contributing to bispecific antibody stability and the reversal of self-associated aggregates

open access: yesBioresources and Bioprocessing
Bispecific antibodies (bsAbs) hold promises for enhanced therapeutic potential surpassing that of their parental monoclonal antibodies. However, bsAbs pose great challenges in their manufacturing, and one of the common reasons is their susceptibility to ...

Analysis of Cytotoxicity of Selected Asteraceae Plant Extracts in Real Time, Their Antioxidant Properties and Polyphenolic Profile

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
Plants from Asteraceae family are widely used for their therapeutic effects in the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases, but the consequences of excessive intake still need to be studied.

Surfaceome: a new era in the discovery of immune evasion mechanisms of circulating tumor cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the era of immunotherapies, many patients either do not respond or eventually develop resistance. We propose to pave the way for proteomic analysis of surface‐expressed proteins called surfaceome, of circulating tumor cells. This approach seeks to identify immune evasion mechanisms and discover potential therapeutic targets. Circulating tumor cells (

Cell Line Classification Using Electric Cell-substrate Impedance Sensing (ECIS) [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
We consider cell line classification using multivariate time series data obtained from electric cell-substrate impedance sensing (ECIS) technology. The ECIS device, which monitors the attachment and spreading of mammalian cells in real time through the collection of electrical impedance data, has historically been used to study one cell line at a time.

Mesoscopic circuits with charge discreteness:quantum transmission lines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We propose a quantum Hamiltonian for a transmission line with charge discreteness. The periodic line is composed of an inductance and a capacitance per cell. In every cell the charge operator satisfies a nonlinear equation of motion because of the discreteness of the charge. In the basis of one-energy per site, the spectrum can be calculated explicitly.

CVm6A: A Visualization and Exploration Database for m6As in Cell Lines

open access: yesCells, 2019
N6-methyladenosine (m6A) has been identified in various biological processes and plays important regulatory functions in diverse cells. However, there is still no visualization database for exploring global m6A patterns across cell lines.

Clinical applications of next‐generation sequencing‐based ctDNA analyses in breast cancer: defining treatment targets and dynamic changes during disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a possibility for different applications in early and late stage breast cancer management. In early breast cancer tumor informed approaches are increasingly used for detecting molecular residual disease (MRD) and early recurrence. In advanced stage, ctDNA provides a possibility for monitoring disease progression and

Approximability of Covering Cells with Line Segments [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
In COCOA 2015, Korman et al. studied the following geometric covering problem: given a set $S$ of $n$ line segments in the plane, find a minimum number of line segments such that every cell in the arrangement of the line segments is covered. Here, a line segment $s$ covers a cell $f$ if $s$ is incident to $f$.
