[Stem cell separation with different cell separators].
Beitrage zur Infusionstherapie = Contributions to infusion therapy, 1992For some years, there has been an increasing success in transplanting peripheral blood stem cells (PBSC) instead of autologous bone marrow in patients suffering from different malignancies. While collecting PBSC for autologous transplantation, we compared four different separation techniques and three different cell separators (COBE Spectra, Fresenius ...

Abstract The involvement of cellulase (endo-b-l,4-glucanase, EC 3.2.1.4) in a number of different cell separation events which occur in higher plants has been well established. Besides their significance for the plant growth and differentiation, these events can be economically important since they also comprise softening of fleshy fruits and ...

Microfluidics for cell separation
Medical & Biological Engineering & Computing, 2010The need for efficient cell separation, an essential preparatory step in many biological and medical assays, has led to the recent development of numerous microscale separation techniques. This review describes the current state-of-the-art in microfluidics-based cell separation techniques.

A separability parameter for dielectrophoretic cell separation
ELECTROPHORESIS, 2013In this study, a separability parameter is introduced to determine the selection of optimum operating parameters for DEP separation of a cell pair. The separability parameter is defined as a function of cells’ Clausius–Mossotti (CM) factors. T‐cell leukemia Jurkat and mouse melanoma B16 cells are tested to validate the separability parameter.

Electrophoretic separation of cells
Journal of Chromatography B: Biomedical Sciences and Applications, 1987There are several kinds of cell electrophoresis. The most important are free-flow electrophoresis, scaled-up free-flow electrophoresis and column electrophoresis. All kinds of cell electrophoresis, especially free-flow electrophoresis, have been improved to a very high standard of separation accuracy, and their application possibilities are extended ...

Abstract The successful separation of specific cells requires not only a knowledge of potential methods, but also detailed protocols that are known to work well in practice. This book is unique in that it brings together the best methods currently used for separating cells.

Electrokinetic Cell Separation
Separation Science, 1975Abstract Particles of the size of living cells are too big to be separated in stabilizing media such as gels. The separation thus has to be done while they are freely suspended in a buffer contained in a vessel of appropriate shape. The major two disturbing factors under these conditions are cell sedimentation and electroosmotic backflow along the ...
