Individual-based lattice model for spatial spread of epidemics

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2001
We present a lattice gas cellular automaton (LGCA) to study spatial and temporal dynamics of an epidemic of SIR (susceptible-infected-removed) type. The automaton is fully discrete, i.e., space, time and number of individuals are discrete variables.

Cellular Automaton Supercomputing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Many of the models now used in science and engineering are over a century old. And most of them can be implemented on modern digital computers only with considerable difficulty. Some new basic models are discussed which are much more directly suitable for digital computer simulation. The fundamental principle is that the models considered herein are as

Unveiling unique protein and phosphorylation signatures in lung adenocarcinomas with and without ALK, EGFR, and KRAS genetic alterations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Proteomic and phosphoproteomic analyses were performed on lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) tumors with EGFR, KRAS, or EML4–ALK alterations and wild‐type cases. Distinct protein expression and phosphorylation patterns were identified, especially in EGFR‐mutated tumors. Key altered pathways included vesicle transport and RNA splicing.

About Strongly Universal Cellular Automata [PDF]

open access: yesElectronic Proceedings in Theoretical Computer Science, 2013
In this paper, we construct a strongly universal cellular automaton on the line with 11 states and the standard neighbourhood. We embed this construction into several tilings of the hyperbolic plane and of the hyperbolic 3D space giving rise to strongly ...

Exact matrix product decay modes of a boundary driven cellular automaton [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We study integrability properties of a reversible deterministic cellular automaton (Rule 54 of (Bobenko et al 1993 Commun. Math. Phys. 158 127)) and present a bulk algebraic relation and its inhomogeneous extension which allow for an explicit ...

Preparation and characterization of renal cell peptides from fetal rats for their antitumor activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study aimed to prepare renal cells (RCs) from fetal rats which were digested by enzymes. Candidate peptides RCPs were characterized by capillary HPLC and MS and their bioactivity was predicted using peptideranker. The predicted top 10 bioactive peptides were synthesized.

Level Set Structure of an Integrable Cellular Automaton

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2010
Based on a group theoretical setting a sort of discrete dynamical system is constructed and applied to a combinatorial dynamical system defined on the set of certain Bethe ansatz related objects known as the rigged configurations.

NMR screening of low molecular weight inhibitors targeting the papain‐like protease (PLPro) of SARS‐CoV‐2

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Papain‐like protease from SARS‐CoV‐2 plays an important role in the cleavage of the viral polyproteins and in the suppression of the host's immune response. Here, we present the results of an NMR screening study. We identified 86 binding compounds, of which five candidates were chosen for in‐depth analysis.

Cellular Automaton With CNN

open access: yes
Cellular automata (CA) models are widely used to simulate complex systems with emergent behaviors, but identifying hidden parameters that govern their dynamics remains a significant challenge. This study explores the use of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) to identify jump parameters in a two-dimensional CA model.
