Techno-political transformation and adaptability in Ghanaian census history
This chapter presents the history of the population census in the West African country of Ghana. Combining archival with qualitative interviews, research for this chapter traced the Ghanaian census history from its colonial past to current ambitions of developing new measurement practices based on interoperability-based population data infrastructures.

Remote sensing can reveal population dynamics of Antarctic penguin colonies. In this study, we analyze emperor penguin (Aptenodytes forsteri) guano stains in remote sensing imagery and discover colony presence predating known records for 18 colonies across Antarctica.
