Lithuanian Literature in 1918–1940: The Dynamics of Influences and Originality
Lithuanian independence (1918–1940), which lasted for twentytwo years, and its symbolic center, the provisional capital Kaunas, have been very important for the country’s political, social, and cultural identity. In 1918, changes in the social, economic,

On Centered and Weakly Centered Operators
The authors show that if \(C\) is a contraction of spectral radius 1 then \(T\) is polynomially bounded if and only if the same is true of \(T\otimes C\). As a corollary, they obtain that every invertible, centered, polynomially bounded operator is similar to a contraction. They also prove a structure theorem for weakly centered operators.

Centers on center manifolds in the Lü system [PDF]
We confirm a conjecture of Mello and Coelho [Physics Letters A 373 (2009) 1116-1120] concerning the existence of centers on local center manifolds at equilibria of the Lü system of differential equations on R3. Our proof shows that the local center manifolds are algebraic ruled surfaces, and are unique.

A Philosophy of Moderation: The “Center” as an Interpretive Key to the Lao–Zhuang Texts
The “center” is a key concept in early Chinese philosophy. While readings of the Laozi 老子 and Zhuangzi 莊子 often rely on concepts of “nature” and the “natural”, this article proposes the “center” as an interpretive key that informs discussion of ...

The fine structure of the neutral nitrogen-vacancy center in diamond
The nitrogen-vacancy (NV) center in diamond is a widely utilized system due to its useful quantum properties. Almost all research focuses on the negative charge state (NV−) and comparatively little is understood about the neutral charge state (NV0). This
