Simple-Zero and Double-Zero Singularities of a Kaldor-Kalecki Model of Business Cycles with Delay

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2009
We study the Kaldor-Kalecki model of business cycles with delay in both the gross product and the capital stock. Simple-zero and double-zero singularities are investigated when bifurcation parameters change near certain critical values.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Center manifold reduction for large populations of globally coupled phase oscillators

open access: yes, 2011
A bifurcation theory for a system of globally coupled phase oscillators is developed based on the theory of rigged Hilbert spaces. It is shown that there exists a finite-dimensional center manifold on a space of generalized functions. The dynamics on the

Normal forms for retarded functional differential equations associated with zero-double-Hopf singularity with $1:1$ resonance

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations
This manuscript introduces a framework that focuses on the singularity of a zero-double-Hopf system with $1:1$ resonance in general retarded differential equations (RDDs).

Bifurcation and Periodic Solutions in Memristive Hyperchaotic System

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
This paper is devoted to a memristive hyperchaotic system. Different from some the existing literature, we derive analytically, under appropriate conditions, the stability and the analytic expression of the Hopf bifurcation by employing center manifold ...

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Periodic traveling wave solutions of the Nicholson's blowflies model with delay and advection

open access: yesElectronic Research Archive, 2023
The existence, stability and bifurcation direction of periodic traveling waves for the Nicholson's blowflies model with delay and advection are investigated by applying the Hopf bifurcation theorem, center manifold theorem as well as normal form theory ...

Center Manifolds of Coupled Cell Networks [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis, 2017
Dynamical systems with a network structure can display anomalous bifurcations as a generic phenomenon. As an explanation for this it has been noted that homogeneous networks can be realized as quotient networks of so-called fundamental networks. The class of admissible vector fields for these fundamental networks is equal to the class of equivariant ...

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.
