Neurobiology of Chronic Pain, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, and Mild Traumatic Brain Injury

open access: yesBiology
Objectives: This article describes the neurobiology of psychological injuries—chronic pain, concussion/mild traumatic brain injury (MTBI), and fear/posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)—toward elucidating common mechanisms in central and peripheral ...

Anisotropic Masked Mycobacterium Potentiates Amplified Antitumor Trained Immunity via Spleen Targeting and Myelopoiesis Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An engineered Trojan Mycobacterium, developed via a “peeling‐off and masking‐up” strategy, functions as a powerful splenic myelopoiesis converter. This spleen‐targeted nanomedicine induces trained immunity to reprogram immunosuppressive myeloid reservoirs into antitumoral effectors.

Focusing on inflammation-driven pyroptosis in postherpetic neuralgia: from molecular mechanisms to therapeutic strategies

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
Postherpetic neuralgia (PHN), the most frequent and recalcitrant sequela of herpes zoster, arises from a complex interplay between inflammatory cascades and programmed cell death.

Engineering Pluripotent Stem Cells‐Derived Inner Ear Organoids With Enhanced Maturation and Reproducibility by Micro‐Topographical Cues

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Micro‐topographical cues applied through temporally controlled microscale confinement improve the reproducibility, spatial organization, and neurosensory‐associated features of pluripotent stem cell‐derived inner ear organoids. Integration with a vascularized organoid platform further enables controlled investigation of vascular‐epithelial interactions

Nuclear Pore Mechanotransduction in Oncology: A Structural Axis of Vulnerability for Targeted Intervention

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Cancer‐associated NPC remodeling creates a high‐flux, low‐stringency nuclear state that supports malignant adaptation but increases mechanical fragility. Targeting the FG‐barrier or NPC scaffold may drive mechanostat failure, envelope rupture, DNA damage, and loss of nuclear integrity.

Central Sensitization of Pain in Patients Presenting with Low Back Pain and Foot/Ankle Disorders

open access: yesBioMed
Central sensitization of pain (CSP) is defined as the “increased responsiveness of nociceptive neurons in the central nervous system (CNS) to normal or subthreshold afferent input” The primary objective of this study is to compare the prevalence of CSP ...

Advanced Materials for Biologics Delivery to Brain Tumors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Material innovation is central to unlocking the therapeutic potential of biologics against many central nervous system diseases, including brain cancer. By engineering carriers with controlled transport, targeting, and release properties, advanced materials can overcome the blood–brain barrier and tumor microenvironment, improving the delivery of ...

Decoding Synergistic Pathways in Bimetallic MOFs for Advanced Oxidation Processes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review presents a unified framework linking metal pairing and framework design with electronic structure, redox cycling, oxidant activation, reactive‐species generation, and catalytic performance across photocatalytic and oxidant‐based BMOF‐AOPs. The resulting design principles guide the development of hydrolytically stable and efficient BMOFs for

Imide Substitution Drives the Supramolecular Assembly of Perylene Diimide Into Laterally Modulated Metallic/Semiconducting Molecular Patterns

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Imide substitution with bulky 2,6‐isopropylphenyl groups induces perylene diimide to self‐assemble on Ag(111) into a monolayer with two coexisting adsorption heights. Molecules closer to the substrate gain metallic character due to charge transfer from the metal, while farther ones remain decoupled and semiconducting.
