Graph kernel based measure for evaluation the influence of patents in a patent citation network

open access: yes, 2015
Identifying important patents helps to drive business growth and focus investment. In the past, centralitymeasures such as degree centrality and betweenness centrality have been applied to identify influentialor important patents in patent citation ...

A Centrality Measure for Urban Networks Based on the Eigenvector Centrality Concept. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
A massive amount of information as geo-referenced data is now emerging from the digitization of contemporary cities. Urban streets networks are characterized by a fairly uniform degree distribution and a low degree range.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Generalized Closeness and Decay Stability of Some Graphs

open access: yesMathematics
Generalized closeness is a recently defined centrality measure. Decay stability, based on generalized closeness, has been previously studied, leading to several conjectures on the decay stability of certain graph classes. In this work, we disprove two of

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Demonstration of dynamic targeting in an online social medium [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We will demonstrate new software for analysing social media networks, such as Twitter and Facebook, in real time to calculate influence ratings that identify influential individuals and assess sentiment within a conversation.

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified

Path Centrality: A New Centrality Measure in Networks

open access: yes, 2010
In network analysis, it is useful to identify important vertices in a network. Based on the varying notions of importance of vertices, a number of centrality measures are defined and studied in the literature.
