Cathodic Cage Plasma Deposition of Nanostructured Cu–Fe–Se Coatings on Poly(methyl Methacrylate)
Nanostructured Cu–Fe–Se coatings are deposited on PMMA by a modified cathodic cage plasma process, enabling low‐temperature deposition on polymer substrates. A transition from discontinuous to compact morphology is observed with temperature, with optimal properties at 200°C, where improved CuFeSe2‐type bonding, lowest sheet resistance, and favorable ...

Performance evaluation of ceramic insulators coated with titanium dioxide films to reduce soiling
The soiling of in-service electrical insulators exposed to the atmosphere is a major problem in power transmission lines. Several inorganic and organic particulate materials are deposited on insulator surfaces forming a layer that could become ...

Nondestructive Testing of Welded Composite Metal Foams
X‐ray computed tomography (CT) is used to evaluate welded steel–steel composite metal foam (CMF) joints of two density classes. It reports variation in postweld spatial void distribution and correlates it to weld‐induced changes, mechanical performance, and failure within welded CMF panels.

Application of very-high-frequency (VHF) method to ceramic insulators
A VHF method (30-300 MHz) is applied to identify faults and defects in ceramic insulators. Insulators which exhibit internal cracks and fractures are used as test samples.

Modeling leakage current of ceramic insulators subject to high pollution levels for improving maintenance activities [PDF]
This paper presents a useful model to determine the washing periods and to indicate the pollution levels of electrical insulators. The behavior of leakage current, which is one indicator of the presence of pollutants on the insulator surfaces, was ...
