Use of fine recycled aggregates from ceramic waste in masonry mortar manufacturing
Construction and Building Materials, 2013Abstract This paper evaluates the performance of fresh and hardened masonry mortar manufactured using fine recycled aggregate from ceramic partition wall rubble. Five mortars were prepared replacing 0%, 5%, 10%, 20%, and 40% of the natural sand by fine recycled aggregate. A 1:7 volumetric cement-to-aggregate ratio was used.

Modification of Masonry Mortar and Structure of Ceramic Bricks to Reduce Efflorescence
Key Engineering Materials, 2019At present, efflorescence formation on the surface of brickwork is a problem for many buildings under construction and those already built. Efflorescence not only spoil the external appearance of the facades, but in rare cases can even lead to peeling of the brick and reducing its durability.

Stress-strain state of masonry with large ceramic blocks under concentrated loads
Bulletin of Science and Research Center of ConstructionIntroduction. Special requirements for the calculation of masonry walls using large ceramic blocks with the void content up to 57 %, including under the action of concentrated loads (buckling) are given in SP 15.13330.2020. In particular, Table 7.5 of this SP gives the coefficients for determining the calculated values of masonry under buckling ...

Whether Can Wall Masonry of Ceramic Hollow Stone Has Plasticity
Promyshlennoe i Grazhdanskoe Stroitel'stvo, 2019The results of domestic and foreign experimental studies of masonry made of large-format ceramic hollow bricks and stones with voidness of up to 54% on the effect of static load during compression are analyzed. They confirmed the conclusions made by Russian scientists in the 1950s-1960s when developing the theory of stone masonry. Based on the analysis

Properties of the Dry Masonry Mixtures with Hollow Ceramics Microspheres
Advanced Materials Research, 2013The article is devoted to the development of dry masonry mixtures on the basis of hollow ceramics microspheres. It considers the effect of the concentration of hollow ceramics microspheres of different size fractions in the masonry mortar on physical, mechanical and technological properties of the mortar. The optimum compositions of lightweight mortars

Applicability of contemporary ceramic bricks for the reconstruction of historical masonry
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2015Two historical ceramic bricks originating from the beginning of 20th century and a contemporary poorly burnt ceramic brick are studied, in order to assess a possible application of current bricks in the renewal of historical masonry. For the researched materials, basic physical, mechanical and hygric properties are analyzed.
