A simple trap for schistosome cercariae has been developed using clear nail varnish as a matrix and linoleic acid as stimulant affixed to a 75 x 25-mm glass slide. Schistosoma mansoni cercariae will attach to the surface and easily can be visualized either stained or unstained.
