Functional Characterisation of Microbial Communities Related to Black Stain Formation in Lascaux Cave. [PDF]
Excessive anthropization can lead to black stain alterations on cave walls. The present work reports the first metagenomic analysis of black stains threatening artwork in Lascaux Cave. Findings show new microbial taxa and genetic potential associated with black stains.

Distinct communities of Cercozoa at different soil depths in a temperate agricultural field.
Protists are the most important predators of soil microbes like bacteria and fungi and are highly diverse in terrestrial ecosystems. However, the structure of protistan communities throughout the soil profile is still poorly explored.

From Mud to Meat: Comparative Metabarcoding Reveals Two Different Evolutionary Paths to Carnivory in a Group of Meiofaunal Annelids. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Evolutionary transitions to carnivory represent profound shifts in feeding mode that are often accompanied by widespread changes in organismal function, behaviour and ecology. Such transitions have evolved numerous times among animals, and predator–prey interactions have been major drivers of animal evolution.

Addition of Two Species of Testate Amoebae (Phylum Tubulinea and Cercozoa) to Indian Fauna
Testate amoebae belong to the single celled organisms classified under protist fauna characterized by developing complex covering of outer chitin shells; they are renowned as bio indicators owing to their high reactivity to any change in the environment.
