Effect of Deep Hypothermia on Cerebral Hemodynamics During Selective Cerebral Perfusion With Systemic Circulatory Arrest

General Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, 2002
We studied the effect of deep hypothermia on cerebral hemodynamics during selective cerebral perfusion with systemic circulatory arrest.Ten anesthesized pigs were placed on cardiopulmonary bypass and cooled to a rectal temperature of 22 degrees C (n = 5) or 15 degrees C (n = 5).

Hemodynamics of Cerebral Circulatory Arrest: Correlation Between Perfusion Pressure and Blood Flow Velocity

Advances in Neurosurgery, 1989
Since 1986, transcranial Doppier ultrasonography (TCD) has been used in our department to assess cerebral blood flow velocities (FV) in patients developing intracranial circulatory arrest due to intracra- nial hypertension. This method offered new insights into cerebral hemodynamics under conditions of raised intracranial pressure (ICP) as it allowf ...

Microvascular hemodynamics in human hypothermic circulatory arrest and selective antegrade cerebral perfusion

Critical Care Medicine, 2010
The behavior of the human microcirculation in the setting of cardiac arrest is largely unknown. Animal experiments have consistently revealed that global hemodynamics do not necessarily reflect microvascular perfusion. In addition, the time it takes for capillary blood flow to stop after the heart arrests is debated.

[Cerebral and general hemodynamics in elderly patients with cerebral circulatory disorders].

Zhurnal nevropatologii i psikhiatrii imeni S.S. Korsakova (Moscow, Russia : 1952), 1976
The report is concerned with clinico-electrophysiological study of 112 patients of middle and old age with disorders of brain circulation. The obtained results depicting a cardio-vascular insufficiency were mainly seen in patients over 70 years of age. Changes of the heart activity negatively influenced the state of brain circulation.

[State of systemic and cerebral hemodynamics in patients with transient cerebral circulatory disorders].

Zhurnal nevropatologii i psikhiatrii imeni S.S. Korsakova (Moscow, Russia : 1952), 1979
In 50 patients with transient disorders of cerebral circulation due to hypertensive disease (27 cases), and combinations of hypertensive disease with atherosclerosis (23 cases) the authors by means of diluting Ewans blue stain (T-1824) studied the indices of general hemodynamics compared to that of REG data .
