Cerebrospinal Fluid Leakage After Dacryocystorhinostomy
Ophthalmology, 1983The authors have encountered two presumptive cases of cerebrospinal fluid leakage associated with dacryocystorhinostomy. To understand better the pathophysiology, bilateral dacryocystorhinostomies and anatomic dissections were performed on three fresh cadaver specimens.

Post‐traumatic Cerebrospinal Fluid Leakage
World Journal of Surgery, 2001Posttraumatic cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leakage frequently complicates skull base fractures. While most CSF leaks will cease without treatment, patients with persistent CSF leaks may be at increased risk for meningitis, and many will require surgical intervention.

Cerebrospinal fluid leakage—Reliable diagnostic methods
Clinica Chimica Acta, 2011Prompt diagnosis and early treatment of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leakage minimizes the risk of severe complications. In patients presenting with clear fluid nasal discharge it is important to identify the nature of the rhinorrhea. The CSF leakage may occur as post-traumatic, iatrogenic, spontaneous or idiopathic rhinorrhea.

Cerebrospinal fluid leakage after cranial surgery in the pediatric population—a systematic review and meta-analysis [PDF]
Background: Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leakage is a common complication after neurosurgical intervention. It is associated with substantial morbidity and increased healthcare costs.

The use of fibrin sealant in cerebrospinal fluid leakage
min - Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery, 1991Cerebrospinal fluid leakage is one of the central problems facing neurosurgeons, both due to its occasional difficulty in management and to the catastrophical significance of ensuing infection. An important tool emerging in the surgical management of CSF leakage is fibrin sealant, the natural coagulation product.

A New Method for the Identification of Cerebrospinal Fluid Leakage
Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 1979Apart from the use of anamnestic data the most common techniques for the diagnosis of CSF leakage have included X-ray studies, and chemical analysis of glucose, protein, and electrolytes of the fluid obtained from the nose or ear, intrathecal staining, and radioactive cisternography.

Cerebrospinal Fluid Leakage Complicating Orbital Exenteration
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1989In three cases of cerebrospinal fluid leakage complicating orbital exenteration, leakage occurred intraoperatively following relatively low-power (0 to 25 W), high-frequency monopolar cautery to the orbital roof. Six cadaver orbits and 25 dried skulls were examined to investigate possible causes of intraoperative cerebrospinal fluid leakage.

Superglue Sealant for Persistent Leakage of Cerebrospinal Fluid
Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 1993A patient is presented in whom a persistent low-pressure CSF leak was stopped by using histoacryl tissue glue following initial local flap closure.

Cerebrospinal fluid leakage after endonasal dacryocystorhinostomy
Journal Français d'Ophtalmologie, 2007An endonasal dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) was followed by cerebrospinal fluid leakage and pneumoencephalocele in an 80-year-old female patient presenting four independent risk factors for an ethmoidal breach: severe septal deviation requiring forced reclining, a cranial insertion of the perpendicular plate of the ethmoid directly onto the cribriform ...
