Endoscopic Repair of Cerebrospinal Fluid Leak. [PDF]
BACKGROUND AND IMPORTANCE: The evolution of endoscopic techniques in spine has allowed novel approaches to various pathologies. We describe the use of endoscopy for repair of refractory cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak after lumbar puncture (LP).

Symptom Predictors of Cerebrospinal Fluid Leaks [PDF]
Background:Spinal cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks, which are considered a cause of intracranial hypotension, generally do not cause any local symptoms. Although symptoms are key elements for further evaluation, few studies have examined symptom predictors of intracranial hypotension.

No increased risk of spinal cerebrospinal fluid leak after spinal manipulative therapy: A retrospective cohort study. [PDF]
Abstract Background Spinal cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks, a rare but debilitating condition, have been described following spinal manipulative therapy (SMT) in case reports. However, the nature of the potential association between SMT and CSF leak is uncertain, and symptoms such as neck pain or headache may reflect preexisting leaks rather than ...

Cerebrospinal Fluid Leak Presenting as Epiphora [PDF]
A 52-year-old woman underwent a right frontotemporal craniotomy for microsurgical clip obliteration of a ruptured right dorsal variant ophthalmic segment carotid aneurysm. During the craniotomy, a defect involving the orbital roof was inadvertently created. The patient was noted postoperatively to have fluid egressing from her OD.

Spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid leak at the clivus. [PDF]
We present a case report of a 60-year-old woman with a spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid leak at the clivus, obesity and no history of trauma. Follow-up imaging scans confirmed enlargement of the defect within the posterior clival framework to the size of 16 × 9 × 4 mm with a suspected meningocerebral hernia.

Imaging review of cerebrospinal fluid leaks
AbstractCerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak occurs due to a defect in the dura and skull base. Trauma remains the most common cause of CSF leak; however, a significant number of cases are iatrogenic, and result from a complication of functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS).

CSF Monoamine Metabolites and Cognitive Trajectory in Early Parkinson's Disease
ABSTRACT Background Imaging and postmortem studies indicate that abnormalities in monoaminergic neurotransmission contribute to cognitive impairment in Parkinson's disease (PD). However, it remains uncertain if cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) monoamine metabolites can serve as biomarkers of cognitive decline in early PD.

Cerebrospinal Fluid Leaks following Septoplasty
We conducted a retrospective review to identify the characteristics of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak in patients who had undergone septoplasty and in selected patients who had experienced a spontaneous CSF leak. CSF leak is a known but infrequently reported complication of septoplasty; to the best of our knowledge, only 4 cases have been previously ...

Dimethyl Fumarate, But Not Rituximab, Reduces Serum GFAP Levels and PIRMA in Relapsing–Remitting MS
ABSTRACT Objective Serum neurofilament light chain (sNfL) and glial fibrillary acidic protein (sGFAP) levels are believed to reflect mainly acute and chronic disease processes in multiple sclerosis (MS), respectively. In this study, we investigated whether dimethyl fumarate (DMF) and rituximab (RTX) differentially affect these biomarkers.
