Symptom Predictors of Cerebrospinal Fluid Leaks [PDF]
Background:Spinal cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks, which are considered a cause of intracranial hypotension, generally do not cause any local symptoms. Although symptoms are key elements for further evaluation, few studies have examined symptom predictors of intracranial hypotension.

Untreated Giant Macroprolactinoma with Chronic Cerebrospinal Fluid Leakage: An Unusual Complication
Macroprolactinoma has the potential to cause base of skull erosion and often extends into the sphenoid sinus. Rapid shrinkage of this invasive tumor following dopamine agonist therapy has been postulated to cause unplugging of the eroded area, leading to

Acute Intracranial Subdural Hematoma Masquerading as a Postpartum Headache: A Case Report
Introduction: An acute subdural hematoma is a collection of blood in the space between the dural and arachnoid membranes overlying the brain. Head trauma is the most common cause. Less frequently, low cerebrospinal fluid pressure, due to a spontaneous or

Cerebrospinal Fluid Leak Presenting as Epiphora [PDF]
A 52-year-old woman underwent a right frontotemporal craniotomy for microsurgical clip obliteration of a ruptured right dorsal variant ophthalmic segment carotid aneurysm. During the craniotomy, a defect involving the orbital roof was inadvertently created. The patient was noted postoperatively to have fluid egressing from her OD.

We report five patients in whom spinal MRI revealed extra-arachnoid fluid collections. These spinal fluid collections most likely resulted from accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) from a dural leak.

Spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid leak at the clivus. [PDF]
We present a case report of a 60-year-old woman with a spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid leak at the clivus, obesity and no history of trauma. Follow-up imaging scans confirmed enlargement of the defect within the posterior clival framework to the size of 16 × 9 × 4 mm with a suspected meningocerebral hernia.

Dual-energy CT cisternography in the evaluation of CSF leaks: A novel approach
Cerebrospinal fluid leaks pose a serious threat to patients as they represent an unchecked communication between the subarachnoid space and the extracranial environment. Accurate localization of the leakage site is essential for treatment planning.
