Modelling Bacillus cereus growth
International Journal of Food Microbiology, 1997The aim of this study was to model the growth, in a model system, of toxigenic strains of Bacillus cereus as a function of temperature, pH and water activity. Optical density (OD) values were transformed into numbers of colony-forming units (CFU) by the use of a 'calibrating' relation.

Bacillus cereus infection in burns
Burns, 1983Two patients are reported in whom severe toxicity developed about 4 days after relatively minor burn injuries and in whom the burn areas then appeared to enlarge. Bacillus cereus in a whey process
International Journal of Food Microbiology, 1998A cheese dairy and its whey manufacturing line were examined for Bacillus cereus. Colonies typical of B. cereus were detected in 120 (17%) samples out of 720 analysed. Experientia, 1969Es wird gezeigt, dassBacillus cereus die Disaccharid Trehalose fermentieren kann. Die fur diese Fermentwirkung benotigte Trehalase wurde durch das Substrat ermoglicht, wahrend Puromycin den Vorgang verhinderte. Dies beweist die Notwendigkeit einer neuen Proteinsynthese.
