Imperfect Certification [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper proposes a model for a certification market with an imperfect testing technology. Such a technology only assures that whenever two products are tested the higher quality product is more likely to pass than the lower quality one. When only one ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Transmission of tomato fruit blotch virus by the tomato russet mite: epidemiological implications for an emerging/re-emerging tomato disease

open access: yesScientific Reports
The tomato russet mite (TRM), Aculops lycopersici (Trombidiformes: Eriophyoidea), was recently suspected to be the vector of tomato fruit blotch virus (ToFBV; Blunervirus solani), a newly identified kitavirus infecting tomato cultivation worldwide ...

Consumer confusion and multiple equilibria [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper focuses on consumer confusion when firms may choose between credible and non-credible certification systems for signalling quality. It is shown that the presence of confused consumers leads to the emergence of multiple stable equilibria, in ...

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Effects of different storage temperatures on sunflower seeds vigor

open access: yesپژوهش‌های بذر ایران, 2014
The cultivation of sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) has significantly increased in recent years, mainly due to the quality of its oil, which is useful for the human consumption and industrial purposes. In order to investigate the effect of different

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.
