A coherence study on EEG and EMG signals [PDF]
The aim of this study is to investigate bursts- related EEG signals in a focal hand dystonia patient. Despite of considering time domain and frequency domain techniques as mutually exclusive analysis, in this contribution we have taken advantage from both of them: particularly, in the frequency domain, coherence was used to identify the most likely ...

Objective Genetic dystonia is a complex movement disorder with diverse clinical manifestations resulting from pathogenic mutations in associated genes. A recent paradigm shift emphasizes the functional convergence among dystonia genes, hinting at a shared pathomechanism. However, the neural dynamics supporting this convergence remain largely unexplored.

Visual control improves the accuracy of hand positioning in Huntington’s disease
Background: The study aimed at demonstrating dependence of visual feedback during hand and finger positioning task performance among Huntington’s disease patients in comparison to patients with Parkinson’s disease and cervical dystonia.

Purine Metabolism and Dystonia: Perspectives of a Long‐Promised Relationship
Purine pool imbalance in purine metabolism disorders, such as Lesch–Nyhan disease, intersects with dystonia pathogenesis. The recent discovery of gain‐of‐function IMPDH2 pathogenic variants in patients with prominent dystonic manifestations provides new insights into the link between dystonia and purinergic system defects.

Abnormal cerebellar connectivity and plasticity in isolated cervical dystonia.
There is increasing evidence that supports the role of the cerebellum in the pathophysiology of dystonia. We used transcranial magnetic stimulation to test the hypothesis that patients with cervical dystonia may have a disrupted cerebellar cortical ...

ABSTRACT Background Botulinum toxin Type A (BTX‐A) is increasingly used in the management of myofascial pain; however, the evidence to support this treatment modality is still inconclusive. Objective To evaluate the change in days with functional jaw pain after one session of BTX‐A or placebo injections into the masseter and temporalis muscles in ...

Statistical inference on partially shape-constrained function-on-scalar linear regression models [PDF]
We consider functional linear regression models where functional outcomes are associated with scalar predictors by coefficient functions with shape constraints, such as monotonicity and convexity, that apply to sub-domains of interest. To validate the partial shape constraints, we propose testing a composite hypothesis of linear functional constraints ...
