Constructing Auxiliary Dynamics for Nonequilibrium Stationary States by Variance Minimization [PDF]
We present a strategy to construct guiding distribution functions (GDFs) based on variance minimization. Auxiliary dynamics via GDFs mitigates the exponential growth of variance as a function of bias in Monte Carlo estimators of large deviation functions.

Abnormal Action Potentials Associated with the Shaker Complex Locus of Drosophila [PDF]
Intracellular recordings of action potentials were made from the cervical giant axon in Shaker (Sh) mutants and normal Drosophila. The mutants showed abnormally long delays in repolarization.

On empirical cumulant generating functions of code lengths for individual sequences
We consider the problem of lossless compression of individual sequences using finite-state (FS) machines, from the perspective of the best achievable empirical cumulant generating function (CGF) of the code length, i.e., the normalized logarithm of the ...

Condensation of degrees emerging through a first-order phase transition in classical random graphs [PDF]
Due to their conceptual and mathematical simplicity, Erd\"os-R\'enyi or classical random graphs remain as a fundamental paradigm to model complex interacting systems in several areas. Although condensation phenomena have been widely considered in complex
